Its no different than women going to the beauty shop and talking about whoever is hot topic at the time and catching up. Women just dont like the idea that men have that place to go to like they do.

Annabelle, To learn a lot about what used to go on in Alma, you could use part of your 2 days off volunteering at the Historical Society. If you have an inquisitive mind, you'd love it. (Please excuse any mistakes in spelling, grammer, attitude, etc...)And no, the barber shop building is not historical.

Don't think Annabelle meant any harm by that remark, but seriously, can you tell me exactly what Alma has to offer that is so great? Nowhere to shop, no jobs and as of right now hardly anywhere to eat unless you want hamburgers, pizza or chicken. If I hadn't been born and raised here I would not have known that Alma had a historical society either.....

Well MOVE!!. I moved back to Alma from living in a "big city" ( Atlanta) and have NEVER looked back.

Like I said, I was born and raised here. Why did you move if you thought it was so great????? If you haven't noticed, Alma is drying up. All surrounding counties have more to offer than we do. Do you seriously like to drive 30 miles or more to shop and eat a nice meal? I won't be moving, hate to tell you, I'll be one to voice my opinions until it counts. When we rid this town of the crooked politicians running it, Alma could be a better place. Until then, it will continue to die... if things don't change, you'll be living in a ghost town. Hope you enjoy the peace and quiet then!!!!
