I thought the school board made the decision??? Not the search committee??? I was told search committee only selected coaches to move before board. Then board made the big decision. Was I told wrong? Was I told wrong? Search committee was given the power to make this decision?

What playoff games has pooh won with Bobby J? As a player or coach? Or maybe water boy. It doesn't really matter what e does this year as long as he gets that BobbyJ statue completed. The TD club got the money raised for that yet?

Search committee recommended finalist to the board. Pooh might not have made the cut if he had been treated like the rest of the applicants? Search committee just slid him right into the finals. Not sure if they even checked his references or looked at his résumé.

I thought the big deal when Johns was hired was for the head coach to have head coach experience. That philosophy worked when we hired him, why compromise that with his replacement. The guy before Johns didn't have head coach experience when he was hired and the "local"s ran him out of town and said he should have never been hired. Ironic?

With all that being said...we all need to get over it and move forward. We can only hope that the ones involed had the kids best interest in mind. That is what really matters anyway, not what you or I think. No point in pissing in everyone's cornflakes because your panties are in a wad. Let's be big boys and girls...believe me...I had to put mine on this morning and suck it up. Decision was made, nothing we can do but pray right decision was made. Then after that pour all our love and support to those sweet young men that we call Raiders. So much more is in this game other than a head coach. i say if you want to complain, then complain about the people who continue to moan and whine about the program and destroy everything it stands for. Always will, no matter what, be a Red Raider til the day I die.

Pooh has coached on some really good playoff teams in GA and FLA. Give the guy a chance.

First off Coach Pooh has coached on some really good teams and he has been an OC before and DC on two different staffs, that doesn't mean anything, McNeil is a great guy I am sure of it but he has only been RB coach and QB coach on to several staffs and both will tell you the guy not a big planning hard working type. I do know this about Pooh, whether you like him or not the guy works his natural ass off. I don't know really how I feel about him as a coach, but as a person that I have had some dealings with he is hard, he demands discipline, and he does take any crap of the kids and they know it, and he expects them to work hard. Maybe we support him and maybe he will keep it going. Last time I checked we just got a taste of winning and Coach Pooh knows how to make them tough and play tough hard nose football. That's all I want to see continued, go red raiders.

Exactly. Coach Pooh was the reason some of our key players stayed on the team last year. He was the disciplinary coach last year and has the respect from the players. From what I hear, he knows just as much as Bobby J when it comes to lifting weights. Thats where the games are won and lost. He also knows the x's and o's of the game just as much as any other Coach...since he's had experience coaching both sides of the ball. So since he is that knowledgable about football, and alrdy has the respect of the players, then it was a no brainer to make him H.C. If he dont work out then maybe some of these "all american coaches" on here should apply and try their hand and leading the Raiders to a championship.

Small school, small budget.Alma will always be a steppng stone for coaches to put in a year or two and then go get paid. Bacon County doesn't have money to hire anyone that wll stay.Until the money is there Alma will never contend. And something should be said about small town population. It is tough to make winners out of people when you do not have as large a talent pool as some bigger schools. A few talented kids are about all you can hope for with a county like ours. When you have 25 players, too many of your talented have to go both ways. Those are the facs.

We "all American coaches" would not get hired. We don't have a weight program or a Florida connection to Bobby Johns. Can't "weight" to see who he ends up dumping that responsibility on....it will be entertaining to watch though.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Virgo

It's a rather low-key day with a few disappointments to cope with along the way. If you were looking forward to a social event, such as meeting up with friends, it may fail to live up to your expectations. It might even be delayed or postponed through no fault of your own. There could also be problems about how much something is going to cost, forcing you to scale down your plans to make them more affordable.
