Do not try calling 955 hope, if you go through GMAC Mortgate, You will just end up getting horassing you with phone calls before your account is due, GMAC 53% government owned is a crap company with abuses and horasses their customers.

complaint filed below with federal banding

Several months ago I contacted the 955-hope line to work out a better interest rate on my investment property, Through the process GMAC refused to help in any way. We left the conversation with out any help.
Since then I have been recieving several calls a month wanting to know when my payment is going to be sent through their collections department. I am getting these calls while the account is up to date. I recieved 2 calls this week for the payment that is not late untill the 16th of this month. Every time they call I have requested that they to not call me about this unless the account is past due. They have assured me they will put it in their notes. I called and talked to a supervisor yesterday, 3/8/10, He informed me that the account is in the collections dept and they will not stop calling me.

My account has been up to date for years. I had never been in the collections dept with GMAC until the 955 hope call. I have also paid off extra principle over the years. With being a good customer I have had interest rates as high as 10.25%, whitch did not come down with the drop of the economy. I currently pay 8%. I was just trying to use what the government is allowing, and now I am being punished by GMAC with these horrassing phone calls, which take me from my work, and cost me vauable time. Please make them stop calling me.

Considering that BofA is having trouble, they had best make sure the characters they hire to repossess property do it correctly. You know, have the right address and don't trash the house up. What is wrong with these bank people?

So what is the surprise? Banks, we are told, do not want to be in the real estate business, but then authorize this sort of action. It is uncalled for, and I hope she wins and wins big. It's about time to show that the era of big banks running our lives is OVER.
