Go here to see the DesMoines chopper news.

The damage was from the new golf course going into town from Cedar Falls on Hwy. 20 to the BIG turn.
The Kwik Trip and Pizza Ranch are gone. Houses on both sides of the highway and the new sub-division near the golf course. Does that help?
No one is in P-burg...but I can get you phone numbers to the shelters in Aplington. Would that help?

Thank you. My family lives in Aplington. When I spoke to them last night they had not heard or seen my 15 yr old son's dad or grandfather who live in Parkersburg. They used to own the HWY 20 Cafe (Scriven) which I hear is probably gone. They lived on kind of by the highschool which I saw was gone. If anyone hears from a Scriven or Wise family please have them call Rachel.

I have a phone # I called and spoke to a guy that was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. He said the main destruction was along old HWY 20 or what is HWY 57. I did a mapquest from the area that I'm aware of to the address listed for your friends on a white page search and my opinion is they were not hit but probably have some damage as it sounds like everyone south of 57 has some damage. He also told me the lines are down and if you know of cell phone # you should try those first as the home lines are not working.
