It is nice to know, that besides paying the HIGHEST REAL ESTATE TAXES in America, we, in NJ, have kids who can write well. Your tax dollars at work here!

Out in middle America the administrative cost per student is about half of what it is here. Those kids come out head and shoulders over what we yield at double the cost. The mindset here is that more money equals better education. I don't think so.
Powerful teachers unions support corrupt politicians and many parents have no clue how bad they are getting fleeced. It won't change in our lifetime.
New Jersey used to be one of the four lowest property taxed states back in 1964. Now 44 years later we are in the top highest property taxed states.

I know of a teacher in Paterson who goes over the testssss for days before it is given. That is how abbott communities like Garfield can get extra $$$$$! There was a girl --who by the way has a high school diploma from Garfield--- who said...."What's a National Anthem?". So JK's relatives who talk about high school diplomas...HeeHaw.

Where I live a 40 year old tradition of (I believe) 5th graders going away for quite a $$$ amount (add in the cost of the insurance per child, cost of the bus/gas, lodging, food) well anyway.....it was voted down. People now realize that the $ should be spent on education - not weekend (so called) camping/educational things. The children could go to any park around this area for day trips and experience the same things. With the higher prices of everything and anything the tax payers are starting to realize how much waste there is in our school systems in New Jersey. Everyone who I know went out to vote - even if they did not know anyone running they could at least vote for the one and only question...NO. We look at it this way...If the parents feel this trip is soooo important then instead of going on a family vacation or trips this year maybe they should send their 5th grader away camping for a weekend. I personally do not feel it is important for a fifth grader to go camping at the tax payers expense. If their parents want to send them...fine that is their choice. Up until this year their was enough money from the state to support this luxery...but...unfortunately their were $ cut-backs and the money is not available anymore.
To me that is equivlant to.....like yesterday - I had my grand-daughter at ChuckeeCheese from 11:30 until almost 7 at night. We had lunch, dinner, and snacks...Why would I expect the tax-payers to support her day/weekend trips. It's educational when a 3 1/2 year old learns how to maneuver different things/games. Plus we are always learning about (Chuckee Coins) counting them and figuring out how many are left etc. We figure out how much the 'Chuckee Coins' would be worth if it was real money and all that other good stuff. There comes a time where the tax payers have to draw the line. They can learn to read and write in school. Anything else is above and beyond and it's up the the parents if such is a necessity.
