I don't think so. You never seen this so called great guy at mass. when he was supposed to be leading his flock in service he was always else where. So yeah it's time for a new leader..I know alot of great local priests that would be great bishops to bad everything is left up to the holy father..if he only knew what was really going on.

I go to Mass almost daily before I go to work. I pray for all clergy but the Bishop has a responsibility to spend the Diocesan money, which comes from their parishes. wisely and not squander it on himself by buying and extensively renovating a retirement house when he could live at the Villa with Bishop Welsh and his other priests. He recently joined the Country Club at Diocesan expense and spends Diocesan money like water to make himself and his flock love him. We love our faith and are true to it but we don’t love the Pompous his Eminence who has destroyed the Dioceses of Allentown, Bishop Edward P. Cullen.
Thanks but no thanks

Now my Brothers and Sisters at the end of a hard day at work let us all say the Cullen Prayer; Cullen:1:2: I pray that the remaining parishes collections remain high and they continue to pay their assessment to the Diocese so the Bishop Cullen can continue his pompous lifestyle. Amen” Then in silent prayer add,“Also Lord please keep the IRS away form Bishop Cullen's income tax return because he may have forgotten to report all the honorarium that he received from his Parish visits. Through his faults, through his faults, through his most grievous faults, Amen.” Now Brothers and Sisters don't you feel better?

Can his nose get any browner than that- talk about a buttlicker?

It's almost incomprehensible but I think these lick-spittle actually believe that a collar and maybe a funny hat somehow give them the right to krap on people and rise up in indignation when confronted with their pathetic greediness.

Them are the unholy and, if there is a hell, will be standing at the gate waiting to f-over whoever comes their way- just like in life.

The Rev. Bernard F. O'Connor speaks of Cullen in past-tense. But, what has Cullen been doing now?

Cullen needs to address the RCC as far as his property deals.

Rev. Bernard F. O'Connor and the Pompous his Eminence must have had dinner at Diocesan expense at the Lehigh Country Club to go over this letter. They had a big meal at Lehigh Country Club at some one else's expense while the rest of us were home and ate dirt.

Allentown, Pa. BISHOP EDWARD CULLEN
Until February, he let four priests work despite decades-old allegations, which were detailed in their personnel files, that they had sexually abused children. He dismissed the men as the Boston clergy scandal brought pressure on dioceses nationwide to reassess their handling of molestation cases. Bishop Cullen initially refused to tell a prosecutor the priests' names or the parishes they served because, he said, the statute of limitations had expired. He relented in May, when four other prosecutors joined the call for disclosure.

Philadelphia, Pa. CARDINAL ANTHONY BEVILACQUA
He has said he did not know that the Rev. John P. Connor, who was leader of a local parish from 1988 to 1993, had previously admitted in court to molesting a 14-year-old boy from a Catholic school in nearby Camden County, N.J., where the priest once taught. After leaving the Camden diocese and before going to Philadelphia, Father Connor also worked in the Pittsburgh diocese - at a time when Cardinal Bevilacqua was bishop there. Early this year, the cardinal dismissed six priests known to have abused minors over the years and said that the archdiocese had identified a total of 35 priests who had sexually abused children since 1950. Initially he refused to give names of those priests to authorities, saying he was concerned about protecting victims' confidentiality. He later relented under pressure from prosecutors. Archdiocese officials have said the dismissed priests had been working in administrative jobs and have been told to seek lay status from the Vatican. That would strip them of the right to perform sacramental duties.

Grand Jury
According to the report released Wednesday, Cullen scolded a subordinate for telling a victim he believed her story. In another case, he reportedly viewed one priest's horrific record of serial molesting as ''a PR [public relations] concern,'' according to an aide. The grand jury cited that remark as emblematic of the skewed priorities governing archdiocesan actions.
Among the episodes cited to show how loosely rules were enforced during Cullen's tenure: A priest with a decades-long history of aberrant behavior — including a criminal conviction for possessing a $15,000 cache of pornography, including child porn — helped celebrate Cullen's 1994 ordination Mass as auxiliary bishop in Philadelphia.

Cullen denies our parish a legitimate mass to mourn our loss. Meanwhile he gives faculty and allows this to operate in Allentown with a CATHOLIC PRIEST.

First Larry Chapp of DESALES rushes to put out the fire, and now the big gun, Father O'Connor, PRESIDENT OF DESALES, wheels into action to defend his pompous eminence....

Cullen's 1994 ordination as auxiliary bishop was co-celebrated by "Father" DePaoli, a priest PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED of having a $15,000 cash of CHILD PORNOGRAPHY. DePaoli also had told schoolchildren at a Mass that he wanted to imagine one of the girls naked from the waist up.

COLLECTIONS ARE DRYING UP BECAUSE THE FAITHFUL ARE MORTIFIED BY CULLEN'S MONEY CHANGER LIFESTYLE IN AVALON WHILE HE CLOSES JESUS' TEMPLES TO SELL THEM FOR SILVER.

We demand that our churches, lovingly built by our grandparents as testaments to the Faith, to Glorify HIS NAME and our Patron Saints, be re-opened.

NO MONEY FOR JUDAS-CULLEN.

We don't have a real bishop. We have a moneyman who could not care less about his flock. He runs the Chew street offices like a gulag. Where else can a woman have a door slammed in her face by a so call monsignor?

The letter is totally besides the point. It's nice that the good Bishop is a good leader but that doesn't addressthe point that he seems to have made himself wealthy at the expense of his parishoners. Lenny Bruce said that the first con man was the first priest with 2 suits well it appears that the Bishop has a closet full and a lot of closets as well. For a church official to own a small kingdom of real estate holdings while his flock is losing its only home just seems plain wrong.

THIS IS THE BISHOP who had a deacon use a false name to write a praising letter to this paper as if he were not connected to Chew street! If he were moral and did not authorize it---he should have disciplined the deacon.

Now we have a new clown praising the ringmaster.

Maybe DESALES PRESIDENT O'CONNOR can explain why the faithful are denied a mass, while a Dignity Mass is offered in the Lehigh Valley for GLBT community by a CATHOLIC priest. This priest also orchestrates participation by DIGNITY, which he leads, in Allentown PRIDE. PRIDE celebrates and promotes an active gay lifestyle and features such "entertainment" as transvestitism. This Catholic Priest proudly states DIGNITY's had a "party tent" at Allentown PRIDE.

And the faithful are denied? Surely, our Bishop mocks the Catechism!

The main thing to remember people is to not give this thieving bunch one penny. Since you get no respect---dont return any with your hard earned money.
Cullen can get money from the turkey family and the mushroom man.
