Salisbury woman, 19, gets probation in baby's death

A 19-year-old Salisbury Township woman whose baby died after being found unconscious in a bathtub in March 2007 was placed on a year of probation Monday by a Lehigh County judge.

You do not ever leave a child that young alone in ANY amount of water for any length of time. EVER.(and before you "we all make mistakes" people get on my case, yes, I DO make mistakes, but when it comes to caring for a helpless baby, I wouldn't do something like this)

You are so right i dont care how young she was. I was 16 when i had my kid and i knew better than to leave her in a tub with water alone with a two year old. OMG this story makes me sick she got away with killing her baby thats a whole lot of Bull

Probation? I'm sorry...but she 'did' kill him. By her neglegence (that spelled right?). The punishment should fit the crime. That child's dead now. All she got was probation. It's not fair! It's not fair to that baby!

Such a tragedy for this family. They made the right decision in this case. It would benefit no one to have this young lady in jail for the next few years.

This is total injustice. Shame on you DA Martin. I will not vote for you in the next election. This poor baby died because this idiot mother wanted to talk to a friend. Her actions directly killed that child. I hope she rots in hell. She should also be sterilized. She should never be allowed to reproduce or be a parent again.

You are absolutely correct and the so called "minority" (if that is what white people want to consider themselves) know you are telling the truth. If this person was named Tameka Johnson or Lisette Melendez the outcome would have been extreme!
