I recently read the July 30 article about Jen Gotzon, a Lehigh Valley native who had a small role in the movie ''500 Days of Summer.'' While it is nice to hear that someone from our area was in a new movie, the article upset me because an entire paragraph talked about the fur coat she wore to the film's premier, even stating where the coat was ...

What is sad is that people like you object to fur, because it is "mean", rather than the stupidity of how big a deal society makes over what people wear.

I was courting back in the day my girlfriend, who is now my wife. I was trying to win her love.
First I gave her fur hand warmers, then I gave her a fur hat, then I gave her a fur coat, she stopped me and said you went fur enough.

Moral of the story
Reach out fur your horizons.

Comrade Lauren,

I don't know where you learned that wearing a fur coat is a sad thing. Maybe for you, but obviously the person wearing it felt great and happy that she wore such a luxurious coat.

This fur coat not only made her feel good, worthwhile and empowered her femininity like almost nothing else.

Fur coats come from animal farms and from fur trappers. These legal, and I argue moral, activities have been happening for quite a few centuries. I know of no religion that bans the killing of animals for legitimate purposes as immoral, except the liberal religion of leftwing politics.

So lighten up a bit, after all where do you think all that fast food you eat comes from? Manna from Heaven like in the Bible?

Moral? Are you kidding? Moral to kill an animal simply for fashion? I feel very sorry for you as you obviously have some sort of mental problem.

Lauren, GOOD FOR YOU for speaking up! Thank you! You are 110% correct.

People talk about wearing fur being cruel, but it doesn't stop us from eating meat. Double standard?

But it is okay to kill animals to put shoes on your feet? Don't we kill animals to eat them? Don't we drill for oil so that you can have plastics? Do we not kill sea creatures to have seafood? Do we not kill plants to have bread, fruit, vegetables, etc.? Therefor; get a life.

Wearing fur does NOT promote cruelty to animals. I guess this letter writer also east beef, chicken or pork, right? Wouldn't that promote cruelty to animals? I just laugh at these flakes who are so against fur but yet love to eat meat.

Because people have to eat. They don't have to wear fur. They could wear human skin.Ed Gein rules.

Where do you people come from. Actually most animal lovers don't believe abortion is an option either. We believe life is life. Wether 2 or 4 legged, so get your facts right.
Watch a video of a little animal being skinned alive for its fur and tell me that is not cruel. You must be missing a compassion gene.
