For those who said she must have been texting....WRONG. She was upset, LOST, scared. I am QUITE sure that you have never driven in that state of mind. When all the negative naysayers can walk the unfrozen waters and NOT get their feet wet then they may comment on others until then just hush lest karma slap you in the face.

May Mother and Father God watch over the family.

you all have some nerve. i worked with jessica and i still work with her entire family. you have no idea what pain this family is going through right now. keep all your negative comments to yourself and express your sorrow for what happened to such a beautiful and young girl. for triplek1, there is no possible way to lower the driving restriction time to 9 pm. how would you feel at the age of 17 to be home at 9pm? not even for a social life, but for gas, insurance, car payments, ect. how are you supposed to make a decent dollar to pay all these astronomical prices these days? its not even possible.. and like what someone else says, who in the world has parents that are going to be able to pick up children all the time.. hell, some high school games start at 9 pm. in february i recently lost a good friend of mine to a car accident that unfortunately had to do with alcohol, so i know what all of this feels.. but you still have to be curtious to the family and family friends. they are going through a horrible time right now. they couldnt even work today without tears flowing down their faces. if i could just ask one favor please be respectful to this family.
rest in peace jessica.
we'll miss you greatly.

Listen everyone, Jess was a very nice girl. I have known her since elementary school. She is not an irresponsible person to get into an accident by speeding or talking on a cell phone. Stop saying that she was inexperienced and stop saying she was dumb for not having been taught properly by her driver's ed teacher. it's just a bad road. My condolescences go out to her family and all her other closest friends. She was smart and had a lot going for her. So don't be sarcastic because this is a truly trgic event that will effect many lives

I may only be 14, but i went to this girl's school. I KNOW this girls younger sister. I saw the h*ll everyone has been through today, teachers, students, bawling their eyes out. This girl was one of the best students. She was in so many activities, she couldn't even find the time. All the while you people want to sit here and say " Well she was probably an inexpierienced driver." But I bet all of you are thinking 'well she's only 14 what does she know'. I may not be old enough to drive yet, but I do think that it was not this young girls fault. Nobody was at fault, that's why it's called an accident. Seriously people, have some heart, and feel for the family and friends. Don't sit there and point fingers when half of you don't even know what you're talking about.

Caitlin you are so right !! I saw it today and I lived it. I lost a close friend myself at a young age. Never take things for granted!! Tell your family and friends how much you care/love them !! Live your own life to the fullest. Im sorry it took Jessicas death for some of you to realize this. You will never forget her and she will watch over you !! Stay Stong !

Although i didnt know her well, she was a friend of my entire family. She always had a glow about her and her smile was contageous. She was an amazing and adorable girl who didnt deserve a lifecut short. Although she was speeding, she was upset. She was not a wreckless driver at all. School wasnt the same today, the halls were filled with tears. I myself couldnt hold it together. Even when i didnt speak to her at all, when i saw her smile, it made me smile. She was one of Whitehall High School's kindest hearts. She will be missed and never forgotten.

Jess, we may not have talked to each other much, but you will always be remembered. I'm so sorry this had to happen. We all miss you and want you to know that we'll be thinking about you throughout the whole year. Even though you won't physically be there with us at graduation. You will definitely be there with us mentally and that's what matters. RIP angel. To the family: I'm truly sorry for the bottom of my heart. I wish that there was more people could do but we all wish god hadn't taken her away. She will always be watching over us just remember that

How can any of you people be so horrible? The comment box is not here so that you can just vent your frustration, they are here for people to express their condolances! Nobody knows what happened and it's terrible for you people to be putting in how she was texting or her lights were off! Even if that was true it doesn't matter. I danced with jess and she was my partner for something in our jazz class a couple of years back, and she was a great person. Family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers.

If the driving age is raised to even 21, you have 21 year old inexperienced drivers. No matter what age you start, you are inexperienced.

I didnt know you that well, like others. But i saw you everyday in the hall, and your smile did light up the room. You seemed to be such a sweetheart, and could brighten anyones day up. Its a shame that her life was cut short, and that sucks. It tore me up to see everyone upset today, it wasn't the same. It broke me deep down inside, and realized what i have.

Rest in Peace darling,
we'll be seeing you.

I am truly sorry for your loss. I have driven around that turn MANY times and it IS a bad turn. I've already almost gotten into an accident there. Luckily, we just went off the road, we didn't actually hit the trees. My heart goes out to all of her family and friends.

I am also sorry that people who care about her and are in mourning need to come on here and read people's ignorant posts. This is not a place to talk about the driving age or insult her for being inexperienced.

This is an extremely sad event that has happened, and I am truly sorry.

some of you people should be ashamed of yourselves. everytime a teenager dies in an automobile accident you people always say "lets up the driving age." but what people dont realize is that no matter what age you are, you are still going to be inexperienced when you first start driving. i went to school with jess and she was one of the sweetest people i've ever met. the whs graduating class of 09' will never be the same. rip jess. you will forever live on in our hearts<3

An accident in Lehigh County took the life of a teenager from Coplay last night. It happened around 10:15 on Shankweiler Road at the curve that leads to Iron Lakes Golf Course in North Whitehall Township. Police say Jessica Coe, 17, lost control going around the curve. Police say her car hit a boulder and a tree. Police say Coe was wearing her seatbelt.

SHE WAS WEARING HER SEATBELT! ive known jessica for 11 of my 16 years, an i feel terrible for her family and her other friends. a lot of you people are insensitive and are terrible terrible people. she was only 17, how can you be so heartless...
