I've seen all kinds of pet owners - of every color and race. I happen to live near The "HUD" apartments and I can tell you, since that establishment first came into my neighborhood, is when the stray cat population soared. I've trapped many cats and took them to shelters. It's a never ending situation. For every cat I've caught, there's another to take his/her place. I'm currently trying to find homes for 2 cats. It breaks my heart to see them out in the cold this past Winter, huddling and shivering in a corner of my carport. I feed them and give them fresh water every day. I need to trap them and have them spayed before they reproduce again. Before you blame it on the poor cats; remember that some thoughtless pet owner is the reason these cats are suffering, alone, hungry, and probably sick. Too many strays and ferals affect other wildlife so people need to be more responsible.
Poisoning cats because you don't like them on your property is just downright cruel. Even when they do spray to mark their territory, it's only temporary. The odor does not last forever and dissipates after a day or 2. Try not to be so shallow and self absorbed. Think about how these animals are left to their own devices and must face everyday dangers such as traffic, cat fights (they can be brutal), disease, AND poisoning!! Strays are abandoned cats and like to be near humans when they get to know you. Ferals on the other hand will never let you get near them. They were born wild and usually stay wild. Ferals make good barn cats though and keep the mice away.
Try to remember that poisoning is very cruel to cats and they suffer horribly. If you are one who thinks it's ok to poison cats; then you are without compassion and common sense. There are other alternatives then killing a cat in such a cruel manner. It also makes me wonder what kind of person would do such a thing and how they deal with other issues in their lives. Wonder if those people are without compassion when it comes to people, family, friends, when the moment suits them.

FYI: My brother did contact the authorities and no one would assist. He also told his neighbor about the issue and nothing was done.? is was it right what he did ? When is enough of cats pissing and shitting all over your property, let alone the stench that came from the cats owners house....... If people want to have animals they should keep them obtained. These cats did not have shots and many were sick. Who knows what for diseases they could have passed to all the little children that walked by and pet them. So..... I believe my bother may have saved the children, and other pet owners pets from getting sick and of course he saved other people the hassle of these animals. The owner is the one at fault.....
