Get a grip Lehigh Valley, you are still pierogi eating hillbillies.

The sounds of this swill joint conjour up images of poorly created food, over priced drinks and pompous and arrogant clientele. Typical Bethelehem fare.
Then what's YOUR idea of creating and keeping commerce in downtown Bethlehem. You know, besides sneaker stores and check-cashing places?

Your second paragraph sounds like you're describing half of the places I've been in NYC.$6 for a Miller Lite? No thanks. I'd rather be a Hillbilly in the LV and pay the same money for Chimay. Look it up if you don't know what that is...

Why would you assume I don't know what Chimay is? If I know what a peirogi eating hillbilly is, not much of a jump to find one that washes it down with Chimay.

why would the city of bethlehem back Sal Biundo. His current address has been on sheriff sale list for 6 months and his restaurant Baccio's has more liens then any other restaurant in the valley. Mayor Callahan knows how to pick a real winner. Ohh i forgot his brother Mario of the same address was picked up in staten island selling a stolen Bentley. What a way to rip of the city of bethlehem taxpayers.
Pektor, Atiyeh, Buindo brothers... this just gets better and better as we go.

Well said. Some people are just on here to stir the pot and be negative. I'm with you...lets support any new business in Bethlehem!! Instead of "Voice of a New Majority"...his name ought to be "Same Old Voice of Miserable Naysayer"

Not much of a jump? Your a jacka s s. Hmmmmm, hillbilly - to Chimay? Oh yeah, they're like neighbors in a moonshine distillery you incapable dolt.
I wonder what's it's like to have a self-deserved sense of such accomplishment that I'd berate the people that support the LV, live here, NOT support the local businesses and feel superior? let me guess: You're probably NOT from here. I'm going to assume northern Jersey, central Jersey or possibly Long Island. And if you ARE from here, shame on you. You don't support the Valley, you'd rather eat the MALL, or TGIFriday's, or some other corporate junk joint.
Complain, then leave. Do us all that favor. So what if the food sucks. They'll look at the numbers and adjust. I'll still stop in there for a beer though once in a while before I go to Applebee's or some other franchise place.
And don't classify me as pierogi eating hillbilly again.

OK, so you don't like pierogies. My apologies, still a hillbilly. Try Orval or Westmalle. Both are better than the Yuengling swill that Chimay resembles.

This is one of those great times that time will tell. If the restaurant is any good, it will thrive. If it isn't it will fail. The food business has got to be one of the most fiercely competitive.

Personally, think the idea is a decade late, but if they think they can make a go of it, try it.

The location is prime. If they can't make it situated on Broad and Main, they can't make it anywhere.

I have to agree they will get their share of the fashionable wannabees. The ones with the Fendi and Gucci that they will whisper they really got at the VF Outlet Malls. After they eat there once or twice, then you will see how the place really does.

I hope he does OK. I think he paid way to much for the building. Pektor saw this one coming. The building is about 30% overprices in this market. That could have been money for start up.

Good luck guys.

You should go to Starter's Riverport every second Wednesday for their 'Beer School'. Each person gets to taste and learn a bit about the beer that they're discussing. Diplomatically, of course. You REALLY should go. I think we could discuss good beer, right? C'mon - come out of your pretentious Condo behind the anonymity of your AOL account and join us! I'll be the guy being called Deebo.

Make sure you Introduce yourself you pompous twit...

I drink about two beers a year. A few shots of vodka ,whiskey or cognac does the same thing as six beers without the bloat and the rest room.
I flush better stuff down my toilet than the beer I can drink around here. If you make it to your car you still have the DUI checkpoints to avoid and Lower Saucon and Hellertown will be waiting for you.
Especially since Bethlehem devulged their plan for widening 412 to three lanes to get you to I-78. They're chomping at the bit to prevent more of a slaughter on I-78 than we have already.

I've been searching and haven't found it. Please let me know if you ever come across it in the Valley. I was introduced to it while vacationing in Colorado. Yummy!

You're best bet could be Shangy's on Lehigh Street. They have a plethora of carbonated goodness for your palate...I'm going to do some investigating...

And one more thing. I will GLADLY pay $100 for a meal from a locally owned restaurant that serves freshly prepared food and "Real" mixed drinks.
I find it fascinating that most people are ignorant of the fact that 90% of the food served in chain restaurants is frozen/pre-packaged/brought in. You are basically paying for an overpriced TV dinner.
I also prefer to eat in an "Adult" atmosphere, rather than one with screaming children and watered down well drinks.
It's all a matter of priorities I suppose, I could spend my money on manicures each week, or the latest fashions, but I prefer to save up and enjoy a really good meal every once in a while.
Bingo! Great Point! TGIFS, Chilis, ect are all garbage restaurants. Save your money for a well deserved night out at a locally owned place.

No surprise there. I assume there is also a 'pole' in your basement.
