from the perspective of any community organizer who works in allegedly disadvantaged community's,you can see the need to desperately find solutions to motivate 4,5,and sixth generation welfare families,not the truly poor,disabled or hopelessly recidivist criminal which in most cases are emotionally or mentally ill. these welfare families need these programs to wean their dependency on the system,the excuses for them are rapidly fading,I have asked many people from all over the world that come here and work at anything and hold our free education as though they won a lottery what makes them work and study so hard,the two answers most given are,where they come from,if you don't work you don't eat and there are no govt. checks handed to you,you swim or sink,and these people come here with the additional challenge of learning a new language-i find this amazing that with some of our own 6th generation welfare families most of them still haven't learned our language yet... keep this socialist welfare idea where it is truly needed,with those that prefer to be totally dependent on the state.

You are making the community organizers job sound waay to complicated.You don't have to motivate them to work or get their lives under control.You just have to motivate them to elect Democrat politicians and keep up black ministers.Presto! Yo' community is organized.

He's got it backwards. We aren't here to serve our government.
It appears that we, as private citizens, not government 'volunteers', have done very, very well providing organizations and monies to help the environment, the downtrodden, victims of natural disaster, etc. We, as private citizens, give more money and aid to the world than the rest of all the countries.
He would love nothing better than to have a everyone conscripted, in some fashion, to the government.
We don't need this pompous, holier than thou, lecturing us about yet another perceived shortcoming that doesn't exist.
