Majorities of Americans believe that President Obama and his fellow Democrats in Congress will sincerely work with the other party, a Gallup poll released Tuesday shows, while decidedly fewer hold similar confidence in Republicans.

According to the poll, 65 percent believe that Obama will make a "sincere effort" to work with the opposing party's leadership to reach a solution "acceptable to both parties." Fifty-seven percent believe that Congressional Democrats will make the same bipartisan appeal.

Americans are less certain, however, about the bipartisan capacity of the Congressional GOP. Less than half of respondents, 48 percent, said that Republicans on Capitol Hill will sincerely work with Democratic leaders to strike an agreement that's palatable to both sides.

The Anti-Romney
By W. James Antle III
The 2016 Republican presidential field is likely to be more serious than this year’s crop. Ryan, Chris Christie, Rand Paul, and perhaps even Jeb Bush are among a few names that will be floated over the next four years. For Jindal to have a chance, he must stand out in this group.
In the early going, Jindal has set out to do so as the anti-Romney.“We’ve got to make sure that we are not the party of big business, big banks, big Wall Street bailouts, big corporate loopholes, big anything,” Jindal told Politico.“We cannot be, we must not be, the party that simply protects the rich so they get to keep their toys.”
Over the longer term, Jindal can seek to occupy a middle ground between an unprincipled Republican establishment and conservative insurgents whose well-publicized gaffes have cost Republicans multiple Senate seats during the last two elections: neither Tommy Thompson nor Todd Akin, Mike Castle nor Christine O’Donnell.
“We’ve also had enough of this dumbed-down conservatism,” Jindal recently said.“We need to stop being simplistic, we need to trust the intelligence of the American people and we need to stop insulting the intelligence of the voters.”
Welcome words. Only time will tell whether Jindal can deliver on their promise.

Piyush Jindall can't even run a state properly in spite of all the federal dollars that have poured into Louisiana the state still lags behind the nation in just about every measurable category and particularly in K-12 education which Jindall helped voucherize.

Screw that flake!

The by 2015 desperate Repubs will most likely go with Jeb and another (R) governor, perhaps Christie and get their azzes stomped again by the party that looks forward rather than to the past.

The problem with that logic is that Democrats, particularly those on the hard left, are very happy to increase everybody's taxes, not just those of the wealthy.
I don't see the problem. Even the poor are Americans. If the 'wealthy' got off scot free, however, THAT would constitute a problem.

1) Budget deficits? Really. Both wars were run off budget under Bush. Not so under Obama.
2) The recession started 4th quarter of 2007. List the legislation the Democrats passed & Bush signed that took us from the rosy Bush economy to the worst recession in 80 years.
It is not a deficit if there is no budget. They should be locked in Congress until the job is done, sandwiches can be sent in. And there are plenty of toilets.

The definition of crazy is to keep doing the same thing over and over and expect a different result. So keep thinking like this loser.
Amen. Menial jobs do not translate into 'menial people' when performed. Those with the mindset which says they do, have likely never bent their backs to any task more physically demanding than tying their shoes.

I pity them.

THERE AREN'T ACTUALLY, SOMETIMES THERE'S 10 WOMEN STACKED UP OUTSIDE THE ONE TOILET WITH THE TWO STALLS OUTSIDE THE SENATE CHAMBER. IF SHE REALLY HAD TO GO SHE'D HAVE TO GO DOWN ONE FLOOR AND ACROSS ABOUT FIVE MILES OF MINTON ENCAUSTIC TILE. WHEN A GIRL'S GOTTA GO SHE'S GOTTA GO.

Remember, old geezer, Bingo tonight!
You scared me, I thought I drove you away. Let me know if I'm rubbing your nose in shitt so much that you run off like you did Nov 6. I'll let up bit, it's too much fun watching you squirm. If it gets too bad here you can just turn on FOX and join their pity party and they'll get your head spinning with lies so fast that you'll think you right wing morons won.

Full of hot air:
A man in a hot air balloon realized he was lost. He lowered altitude and spotted a woman in a boat below. He shouted to her, excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am.
The woman consulted her portable GPS and replied you're in a hot air balloon approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are 31 degrees, 14.9 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes, west longitude.
He rolled his eyes and said you must be a Democrat.
I am replied the woman, How did you know?
Well answered the balloonist, everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to make of your information , and I'm still lost. Frankly you've not been much help to me.
The woman smiled and said you must be a Republican. I am replied the balloonist, But how did you know?
Well said the woman, you don't know where you are or where you're going, You've risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air, you've made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and now you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but somehow now, it's my fault.
