A good lawyer should be able to sue the little old lady, for being in her own yard. Our country sux

My daughter has a pit bull. At first I was a little leery, but then when you get to know Aries, he is really gentle. He and my shihtzu get a long just fine. He falls asleep right out side the baby's door. He is very protective over the grandbaby. It is the owners who train their dogs to be mean that the dogs act that way. If you treat a dog with kindness and not cruel to the animal, they are very gentle.

Back about 10 years ago when I lived in one of the more "diverse" neighborhoods of Bethlehem, my deadbeat PR neighbor's pit bull got loose. Well actually it was about the 10th time it happened. It tried to attack passers-by on the sidewalk, and then stood on my porch holding me hostage in my own home. Eventually I called the cops, they came with those "collar on a stick" things, and strangled the dog so hard it lost control if its bowel movements. I laughed up a storm.

The next day, while the neighbor was sleeping instead of working, I slipped the dog a large piece of meat soaked in various chemicals. I dunno if the dog died or not, because the neighbor was evicted from his rental house shortly thereafter.

I'm not big on lawsuits, but when it comes to pit bull owners, they should be sued for every penny they have if their dog attacks someone.
I agree. But so should everyother dog owner as well. Did you not see where the dog tried to bite someone in june? This dog should have been secured or put down prob long ago. But dont blame it on the breed. There are 2 rotties up the street that try to kill me everytime I walk by. PUNISH THE DEED, NOT THE BREED.

Pitbulls can be nice dogs if brought up in a good home, but when owned by nukkas and p ric-ans they are usually as usless as their drug dealing owners

Put the dog to sleep and jail the owner, it's the only way this is going to stop.

I have a neighbor that has 3 pit bulls and they do not keep them on leashes. I told the owner next time one comes in my yard it will not be leaving my vard alive. I have 2 children and I am not taking any chances. The funny thing is if you OWN a house most homeowner insurance companies will not cover you if you have pit bulls. A lot of people rent that own these animals. I really don't care for these dogs. They need to be on farms or somewhere not in the city. The owners always say the same thing. "The dog was a family dog and never would bite anyone. We don't know why the dog went nuts" These dogs are not worth the risk. I just wish the dogs would bite the owners or there family instead of inocent people.

Why should the people that were there long before the PR's moved in relocate? They moved into our neighborhoods bringing there loud music, misbehaved children and nasty attitudes. My best friend is from Puerto Rico and does not like the PRs in Bethlehem.
You guys are pathetic.... i know plenty of white people that own pit bulls, why does race have to be such an issue on these forums.... prs, whites, blacks, irish, jew, etc all are human...no one is perfect regardless of their race!! your friend is pr and dont like the pr in bethlehem you know how stupid that sounds.... grow up people is your kind that has this society the way it is....

The next time you poison an animal, you should be place in one of dem duhhh "collar on a stick things" and choked until you lose control of your bowels! Friggin Idiot, if you live in one of those "diverse" neighborhoods and act the way you do, you are nothing more than what we socialized people call "WHITE TRASH"

Unacceptable. The police were there before and no charges filed. A 3 foot fence is inadequate for this type of animal. The city should be sued for gross negligence. I know we live in a litigious society already, but how else do you make these numbskulls do their jobs? The dog owner should be sent to Guantanamo and waterboarded.
I agree. Also, why would someone own a breed known for its violent behavior inside city limits? Unless you're involved in some kind of illegal activity, I don't see a need for such animal. I'm a dog owner as well, but I don't feel a need to own a dog known for its violent behavior.
Anyone who dares to say, "oh he/she is such a nice dog, I've never seen him acting like that" is lying. Dogs don't just snap and attack. They're trained that way by the owners.

Charges should've been brought the first time. Now, the city has put itself in a very vulnerable position. I hope this lady hires a good lawyer and sues the crap out of the city and the dog owner. There's no excuse for people being attacked on their own yard.

Although I understand your frustration, poisoning a dog just for the sake of it is simply cruel and criminal. City officials need to have stronger regulation as to the type of dogs allowed within city limits. Too bad if you don't like it. There's no need to have dogs known for their violent behavior living within city limits. Want to have violent dogs, then buy some property out in the deep country, put up a high and strong fence, and have at it. But, when you're in the city the safety of people come first.

VERy true! And, the "Dog Whisperer," Cesar Milan, trains people to BE better "pack leaders."

The bad dogs are the result of an owner's ignorance.

Gee, Mary. Atre you off your meds AGAIN?:)

I guess you NEVER watched the "Dog Whisperer." As Cesar Milan says, in HIS own words, "There is not a dog I cannot rehabilitate."

Cesar has proven on EVERY show that the dogs get rehabilitated, and it is the OWNERS that get TRAINED.

It's not the dogs that are wired wrong. It is the OWNERS who don't know what they are doing. Watch a marathon of his show when it's on. MAYBE you can learn something.

And I hope she does!!!!!

I have lived in this neighborhhod for quite a few years now, and the woman who was bitten is a very nice woman. She's kind and considerate.

The "neighbor" who moved in (about 2-3 years ago) is the typical welfare trash. She has 3 kids, no father, works part-time (IF that), but yet owns a few vehicles, cell phone and LARGE screen TV. Shoot, almost on any given night, she has her front blinds open just to showcase this TV.

Sorry... But I know for a FACT that the woman who owns the dog is nothing more than worthless trash living off the system.
