So how many drinks would you say? Are you aware that it all depends on how fast you drink it? maybe i'll say limit 2, it depends on how much the person weighs, plus other factors. they have lowered the legal limit also. If you have had the drinks early on, and don't go out and drive for at least an hour after your last drink, maybe you wouldn't be able to blow a .08. But you may not look drunk, or even feel drunk, but if you are stopped, and asked to blow into the breathlyser, you could blow a.08 and you will be considered drunk whether or not you can walk a toe-toe straight line or not. A friend of mine had one glass of wine, she was not doing anyhting, she pulled over to see if she hit an animal.the police folowed her home, they were actually upset they couldn't get her to register on their breahtlyser.

2nd offense lose the car your driving. Would make the taxpayers money instead of costing us. For every DUI that driver has gotten away with it at least 10 times. Take the cars and watch how fast this problem goes away.

Alcohol is the #1 DRUG, yes it is a DRUG. Does the Government make it illeagal? NO. Pennsylvania monoplizes it, sells it to the public through it's paid empoloyees, then busts, fines, and jailes these people whom they intoxicated. Is Prohibition the answer??? Heck, they ban other drugs, are trying to ban guns, give 18 year olds the right to die for their country, BUT NO DRINKING ALCOHOL till 21 HUH??? Everyone on this post is MADD about alcohol and its effects weather you are drunk or sober in one way or another. What a wonderful thing this ALCOHOL. It brings us all closer. "Bottoms up ya all"

They should have 2 islands in the Atlantic and 2 in the Pacific. 1 for the harden crimals and the other for offenders of drugs and alcohol.
No way to leave and feed them coconuts and water
that's it. Well maybe a dog bone for a treat once in a while.
When people break the laws an serve time they only break them again when they get out because they don't know how to relate to the real world.

Also I think when a person is put on death row
they should have to give up their organs before being put down. This way someone else can life out their life to the fullest.
If my husband got a DUI I want him to go to jail. I don't want him around to annoy me until his time is up.

House arrest is ok for first time offenders. Repeat offenders have already proved they cannot handle being independent in the community and therefore need to be in jail serving their time.

House arrest should NOT be a sit-at-home free card. ALL offenders should be REQUIRED to complete community service hours.

MADD does have a lot of policital clout and they should. They've made some remarkable changes in DUI laws and because of them, our children are safer. Now if we could only get adults to STOP giving teens alcohol!!

drug war= government's need to control people and put them on THEIR drugs- pharmacueticals so the people can tolerate being underpaid and treated like disposable resources in the work place.... to keep the machine going.
legalize alcohol to humor them: it only makes them stupid and then they sober up. no threat there.

its all a plot!!!!!!!!!! maybe..maybe not. wow, its so nice outside today.

I have done time for dwi . Someday those who put people in jail will be faced with with the laws they pass to protect themselves from ! Everyone knows what is best for someone else! putting people in jail for minor offense dui or marajuani . makes no sense at all. Other than madd and other money backed special intrest groups. Get there way with local goverment. The need to change American mindset. goverment spends 365 million to fight drug wars that they never win ! Madd is Madd not reasonable . only 1 percent of population gets caught for dwi. Laws only apply to those who listen ! Are we any safer today because of dwi laws?? I think not ! And has anyone thought about the cost of political big brother gps!! While you cry for ones loss you will give all americans freedom away! There is a better way. Jail is not the option.. neither is madd .
Are we any safer today because of dwi laws?? I think not !

Of course not just look at what NJ Governor and his state police driver just did.
This the perfect example. As well as my own case.

Wow your wacked, wonder if there's an island for dummies to? First 1 there Jerseygurl.
with any luck you would get the 1/2 useless liver of an alcoholoic, your husband would no doubt get the vacation he needs from you, and when you get laid because he's not around, you'd collect a case of siflis & aids.

Hey Mark I wouldn not be any of them, for I don't drink and I wouldn't drink and drive, and guess what buddy I am not married. And when it comes to getting What you say Laid, I take precauctions. No I am not wacky.
Harden crimals don't deserve life at all, and a drunk that drives should die before killing some defenseless person or lets say even a child.
So the next time if you are a drinker, beware of those facts.
House arrest is to good for the drunk that wants to drive on the same roads as myself. Throw them in jail until they find a better way to punish the selfish drivers. And further if I was married why should I be punished along with STUPID. I wasn't the one that drives and drinks. I would be the one on vacation not him. Most Men are babies and they think that a women is suppose cater to them. Wrong honey if your stupid enough to drink and drive then go pay your punishment somewhere else. Have a nice day now.

Don't argue with Mark jerseygurl. If he hasn't bragged about it yet he is a convicted criminal who drank and drive and caused a death. He served time yet still believes that "the system" is to blame for his actions. Oh yeah don't chastise his ignorant posts back at you cause he will threaten to blow up your house. Right Mark or am I mistaken?

speeding kills more people in auto accidents than alcohol ever will. So why aren't speeders being treated like drunk drivers? speeding is the number one cause of auto crashes: that's a fact.
so why the propaganda of only coming down hard on drunk drivers?

I did not see Lehigh County's top law enforcement official District Attorney Jim Martin quoted in this article. Couldn't you have sent a reporter to the bar at the King George Inn to get a quote from him?

Jailing drunks is a waste of time and money. Madd
had political clout and forced the hands of these cowards in Govt. to act tough. Now we are paying for it..After two DUI brand the drunks forehead with an "I'm an asshole" tatoo...It'll save us money and have as much success as jail time does.
They are problem drinkers..Jail time will not stop it. At least the tatoo would be funny..

Victim -- you put yourself in the situation, now get yourself out of it. You are only treated the way you let people treat you. Time to move on with your life.
