Allentown has new oil, gas burner inspection ordinance

Oct 26, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: WFMZ-TV Allentown

There's a new ordinance in Allentown and if you don't follow it you could be fined up to $1,000. "We always recommend it to people when we get inspections of their property, is that they have their furnaces serviced on a periodic basis," said David Paulus, director of the Allentown Building Standards and Safety Office.

My neighbor had an allentown inspection before listing his house for sale. His entire house is wired to a breaker box with no breakers and one main disconnect. The house passed inspection somehow and i wonder if the city will lose the p work when it burns

It will be fixed with grant money up to code, with a little paint┐ An artist will go in and paint a proper looking breaker box on the basement wall and cover the antiqwuated box with a towel┐

What was the name of the code official, or is the liability outsorced to gus yawikeems low Integrity homes┐ just one in the many of conflicts of intrests in local realowestate┐

Hi Julian, my post was not meant to get anybody in trouble and i dont want to cause problems for my neighbor. I think the buyer is responsible for having an inspection done by a licensed and insured inspector. If you really want the info i will call the dept you provide

From the info you posted I am concerned about the welfare of the occupants of that property. Only person that would get in any trouble is the landlord of the property. The property you mentioned is a rental property right?

Why are you concerned about this property? This shat goes on all over Allentown? This new ordnance is not about protecting people it is about generating income for the Pawloski Goomba Intimidation Squad aka administration.

Allentown is what it is and will not change. Find a better cause to consume your spare time.

It is people like you why the city will never change. Reason I am concerned is cause I am the president of a tenant association for the city. If it is a rental property then it is part of what we are focusing on.

So you know the dude who started this thread. Yeah the guy that was campaigning for Shi**y Clown Council on Allentown. Well! Well!. I was a landlord in Allentown once. What a bunch of immature twits for tenants. Drug addicts who couldn't find the toilet at night so pi**ed in the corner. Yeah! I am sure you are already thinking of a retort to blame it on me. That is how people like you are. I sold my properties and found peace of mind. Buy a house dude.

No I don't know the person who started this thread. This thread is from an article on WFMZ. So you got me lost there. I'm not a drug addict and I never pissed in a corner. I never did anything wrong as a renter. So I don't know what your talking about.
Easy to say buy a house. I plan on it someday in the future. However for now I have to rent and can't buy a house. Also even if I could that has nothing to do with landlords who don't take care of their responsibilities has a landlord. This ordinance that was passed was much needed. You have landlords out there that try and service furnaces them selves or get someone unlicensed to do it which is a safety issue not only for the renters but any properties attached to the the property.

Well, someone seems to have issues with the city government and I'm sure you are the type of person who sat on your ass hoping things would change you need to get up and help solve the problem instead of being part of the problem.

Surprizing not yet but its just a matter of time. A 2 year old lost his eye cause of neglect from a landlord however you wont hear about it on the news cause theres cover ups or something. Sad it takes someone to get killed till something is done about these slumlords.
