Stabbings, shootings spike city violence

A shooting Saturday night at Ninth and Liberty streets was the latest in series of violent attacks in Allentown that have left two people dead and six wounded, three critically, over the past three days.

why are you blaming Pawlowski/Afflerback/Kuhn. When the city has alot of ** garbage**, it takes awhile to clean it up. I am sure we all know the **Garbage** is the blacks and pr's from Philly and Ny. So don't blame the officials, I think their hands are full.

It is time for the landlords that own these apartments to answer for their tenants. If one owns a property, one should be held accountable for the actions of those whom abide there. This seems like common sense to me. Even a murderer needs a place to relax.

Landlords are making a profit from these people, they should get fined (heavily). Any other industry gets fined when they bring down a local area, no reason landlords shouldn't.

I feel for the people who work for city/county agencies that have to go into these neighborhoods and homes as part of their daily jobs...it's highly dangerous anymore and just a matter of time until someone gets hurt just trying to do their job....the city is dead and buried

I know little about the body in the Kmart parking lot (although I do not believe it was murder.)

The body in the dumpster was not murder. This was just a strange and unfortunate event.

I don't feel any sadness for the scum that are shot and killed, but for the innocent ones that caught in the cross fire. I see how this town has goteon worse and to see the scum in here, how the mothers and fathers who let thier kids play on the sidewalks and don't even watch them. Many parents ought to have thier kids taken away and be escorted out of this town. Where I live it's bad but not as bad as other neighborhoods and see how these parents don't care about their kids and one day they will get hit by a car, shot or stabbed,then let's see how responsible they will become.
We need only 200 more officers then we might be able to take care fo the scum.

Maybe it has to do with the breakdown of the American family. As we celebrate Mothers Day, how many actually know who their spouse is. Do they even know what a "spouse" is? Have any of these violent animals ever been raised in a loving, caring home? How many were ever taught right from wrong? If they don't have any clue of respect and honor for their parents, how do you expect them to respect police, teachers, bosses or anyone else in authority? You may think the city is a swamp, but there were over 9,000 people having a great time at the IronPigs game last night and many were families. So stop bashing the city and start criticising the lawless, armed nit-wits that ruin nice neighborhoods. If you want them out, start reporting who the troublemakers are instead of living in fear of the jerks. If you want a better city, start clearing out the trash that is destoying your block.

I just hope the city is doing everything to solve the shooting that happened last night because the person that was shot never bothered anyone and wasn't related to any gangs. He was always home helping out his family. I PRAY TO GOD THAT THEY CATCH THE SCUM THAT SHOT HIM AND PROSECUTE HIM TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW!!!!!!!!!! I pray for the family and the mother who has lost her son senselessly on Mothers Day... God Bless.

It IS the fault of the P/A/K. I moved here 18 years ago, and each year Allentown has continued it's downward spiral. I've lived a lot of places, and I have never seen a more messed up city than Allentown. And, Kuhn, he was the worst. The officials are in over their heads - Allentown is like a three ring circus.

Well these people were going to clean up allentown. All that has been done is cameras, SMILE, and extra staff for fuzzy eddie to answer all the questions about why isn't anything being done. The money spent on cameras would've put more cops on the streets and what is wrong with walking up to a group and asking them what they are doing? Tell the fling lawyers to go to hell, it is time to take back the streets, by force if necessary. But this all started with the great welfare scam to wipe out poverty. Government is supposed to protect so they take our guns away, they forbid people to carry, and they DON'T ENFORCE THE GUN LAWS.
