Wading into the politically charged immigration debate, a group of colleges and universities is urging Congress to give illegal immigrants tuition aid and a path to citizenship in light of efforts in several states to block them.

ANOTHER JOKES ON YOU. When I wanted to go to college I received no financial aid or tuition reimbursement. At 18 I was a full time worker trying to start a career and go to college fulltime. All I got was-"you make too much money". Lets see, my folks didnt support me or claim me as an dependent, I had no assets, I made 20k a year of which the government took most of it. I wound up burying myself in student loan debt, not being able to finish college(still going on and off at age 31) and making a career without a colleg education...as best I could. Rise up and oppose BS bills like this. I could care less about illegals,their educuation, or the families. Get them out and take care of our own.

The Federal Government daily expands its beltline into matters it is not and never was missioned to do. Yet one of its very few valid missions, that of protecting our sovereign borders, violated the public trust years ago.

Now the question gfets begged...not that illegals are even supposed to be here, but whether they should get tuition breaks! THAT'S BEYOND THE MAIN ARGUMENT WHICH HAS BEEN CONVENIENTLY IGNORED!

This is NOT a problem of denying education to illegals. It is a problem of funding illegals with taxes paid by the citizens of the community. I do not see anywhere in the article where someone paying full out of state tuition is denied matriculation. MC-..if they attend college or participate in military service for at least two years, the immigrants would qualify for permanent legal residency and ultimately citizenship. No argument on military service as a step to citizenship. That should be the first step. Yes, of course go to college but not at my expense.

The French, Spanish, Dutch, and British all came hundreds of years gone by. The difference is that the British brought women where the others returned with the treasures of the new world. The British came and settled and today we speak English. There is a new train line between Bejing, China and Lhasa, Tibet. Each day the train has people headed on this train for Lhasa for the purpose of migration and "investment." Looks like one masterful way to destroy the Tibetan culture. In the states we have a massive 20,000,000 influx of illegal immigration. The schools of southern California are inundated with illegal children. Orange County serves two meals per day because of parents too "poor" to feed breakfast to their children. The cost of caring for so many illegal immigrants is staggering. One slogan we saw in Los Angeles was "Welcome to the United States of Mexico." Is or is not English the national language of our country? It becomes a question of concern. Unfortunately the polls claim most voters place the issue at a low priority. Do we repair the leak or abandon ship? Sure wish the politicians would take their responsibility more seriously.

If you're a student not living in the State of NM you pay out of state tuition.

If you're an illegal alien student living in the State of NM you get in state tuition.
