Everyone is bringing up points about cost, or if Realtors really earn their living, but many people are failing to ask the real question: Are these housing selling?

I am licensed Realtor, but I work part-time mostly for family and friends. A company like this came into my area and I watched their listing to see what their results would be.

They didn't sell one house. NOT ONE. But they made a lot of money!!!!!

The reason? Why would anyone be motivated to help you at all (even their FSBO program) if you already paid them and it doesn't matter if your house sells or not?

If this company can make money, good for them. But the real reason companies like this start is because they can't actually sell houses but want to get paid anyway.

Which is really more "expensive"? Paying $500 and not selling your house? Or the other "worst-case scenario", you actually sell your house and have to pay a commission because you hired someone to do the "impossible" in the State of Michigan.

This will pass like every FAD!

I guess this is just another example of why I don't work with realtors. My time is worth more than what they can offer.
Judging everyone by a few is just as unwise and the response you got.

What the report fails to mention is that whenever your home is listed on the MLS a compensation for co-operating agents is stil offered. Therefore whether paying your agent for limited services or for full service, you still must pay the 3% to the agent bringing the buyer. So what you pay is $499 or $899 + 3% of your homes value.
Also the report mentions that the client can earn part of the commision and "whats wrong with that?" The answer is that according to Michigan State Law only licensed Realtors can earn a commision!!!
Paying $499 and only 3% commision compared to 7% is a no brainer. We all know that the realtor doesn't sell the house but rather the MLS does. Its time to stop cheating homeowners out of their hard earned equity by gouging us with high commission
