What is your opinion about the basement flooding in Allen Park? All I can do is just laugh. Maybe this is just a rerun movie? I was under the impression the city had fixed this problem.

I agree this is the 2nd time in 6 years that it has caused devestating damage to our home. I'm sure taxes will go up though.

If our Allen Park Mayor has the time, energy and money to show Unity Studios that we are a good place for their movie making, wouldn't you think that the Mayor could also get to the root of this basement flooding problem? I'll bet that his basement doesn't flood.

I have just started looking for a home to buy in the Allen Park area. Can anyone tell me exactly what area/areas of Allen Park have flooding problems??

You have asked a very important and pertinent question. Since I don't know the exact areas that have flooding problems, the only answer I have for you is to attend a City Council Meeting and during the citizen's request time, ask the mayor and council your direct question. This is such an appropriate time because the Meeting will be held tomorrow (Tuesday, 6-22-09) at 7:00pm in the City Hall. The Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month at 7:00pm. The City Hall is located at the end of the Southfield Expressway on your left hand side. We hope to see you there. Thank you for your most important question.

a majority of the regular consistent flooding episodes over the years are the appx. area of the blocks off southfield to mclain between colwell and rosedale, off into lincoln park blocks as well.

Flooded Basement Repair
Nearly every homeowner will experience some form of water damage, and if you have a basement, itís pretty much a guarantee. In fact, studies have concluded that 98% of all basements will suffer from some form of water damage at some point in their existence. A flooded basement may be caused by any number of issues, cracks in the foundation, inadequate drainage, broken seals around windows, burst pipes, but whatever the case flooded basement cleanup is somewhat of an exact science.
