I can't believe we fell for Amendment 5. Of course Richardson wants to be able to appoint a new lieutenant governor. The man who ran on a platform of "I've spent my whole life preparing to be your governor" can't WAIT to get out of New Mexico and back to Washington.
Doesn't anyone in this state understand basic civics? We don't vote for Governor/Lieutenant Governor as a ticket--why should we allow one of those positions to be appointed? We have just given up one of our basic freedoms. Welcome to Amerika.

Imagine the horror, New Mexico filling a vacancy for Lieutenant Governor the same way as the President of the United States fills a vacancy for Vice President. What's next , allowing women the vote?
