Irritated in Hillsdale

Macomb, MI

We bought a low mileage Ford car from Hillsdale Dodge in April 2008 along with a premium 100,000 mile extended warranty. This past Sunday it overheated so I took the car in Monday morning for repair. HDC&J called Monday afternoon and said it would be a major repair at which time they led me to believe they were already working on the car. Tuesday they again gave the impression of working to repair our car.
I went by this morning[Wednesday] 48 hours later and found out they haven't even started to work on our car.

This is the only car we have and they don't seem to care about us one bit

The situation is much better today thanks to Hillsdale Dodge.

This is Friday morning and I just got home from Hillsdale Dodge where I talked to the Technician working on my car. He has the engine partially disassembled, he showed me at his work area, but will need to do further disasembly, He may have to remove the whole engine in order to send the engine block and cylinder heads out to be tested for cracks because oil is getting into the antifreeze. It is very difficult and tedious work to diagnose this problem.
After meeting and talking with the tech I realize he is both competent and experienced enough to make the necessary repairs. I feel much better today.
The dealership is providing us with a loaner car due to our vehicle being out of service for this extended time. We are very grateful for this courtesy from Hillsdale Dodge,
I will update this when our car is repaired.

Better in Hillsdale,

You got lucky. This dealership sold to me what is supposed to be a new car, that they won't fix, and I can't drive without risking my safety or life.

The same problem keeps reoccuring and they have "fixed" it a few times. This last time they had the car nearly a week and said they "fixed" the problem, however, the problem returned and they refuse to look at it anymore.

Chrysler dealerships are very clever in the way they write up the work orders so that it appears that your complaint is trivial or that it's a different complaint.

I realized this too late. I will go back one more time and offer to pay for the repairs myself. I bet they find a ton of problems when it's on my dime.

I suggest that before any work is done on your vehicles at Chrysler you read the work order, approve it when it's correct and ask for a copy. When your vehicle is complete ask for the final work statement and once again make sure the data is correct.

I suggest this because if you need to take the matter to court you want to make sure the documents from the dealership actually match the problem.

I got taken really good and it's going to cost me everything, including my home, so please be careful to protect yourselves.

I'm betting you are actually the Sales Mgr. Len who burned me and my family with your poor pathetic attitude toward doing the right thing after refusing to back your salesman's promises after selling me a new lemon Chrysler 300.

They are the biggest cheats around. Watch what u sign real close. My wife bought a car there, looking at the paper work I noticed they added $1,000 for "bank surcharge" when I called the bank I was told they never heard of it & that the $1,000 was part of the price of the car. Said they didn't & have never charged a "surcharge" When I confronted the used car manager nhe said the bank was lying. Needless to say I had a few choice words for him. After the "owner" checked into it, I was told I was just a difficult customer, that the papers had been signed & car taken, case closed. I wouldn't buy another car from them if they were selling it for "half off". It'd probably be stolen. Go to Hudson Dodge Dealers, or any where but these rip off artists

The worst dealership I've ever dealt with. They'll lie, cheat and twist a knife in your back with a smile on their faces. Sales Mgr. Len is about the worst of the bunch.

Stay as far away as possible from this WHOLE bunch of theives.
