WOW-

That just completely enraged me! GOD_what a bunch of pricks! I hope that she screws them over royally-of course the sheriff denies it all-even when its on tape.

Lets just say she WAS disorderly to begin with-why a strip search? You search her for weapons-lock her in a cell and if she screams and yells so be it...you dont force someone in that manner.

This attorney has a slam dunk and this woman is going to have some cash for her troubles...just goes to show how law thinks its above the citizens in most cases....total crap

You are letting you emotions override your logic and common sense. First of all, no jail is going to put an inmate into general population until the inmate has been showered/deloused. Part of that process is the “observation of clothing removal”(strip search). This is obviously done with a same sex officer, but if a person refuses to comply, it must be done the hard way. Second of all, the fact that this incident was recorded only lends creditability to the officers. All officers in a jail know where cameras are located and if they are recording or not. There is no way that 7 or 8 officers of both genders, suddenly decided to attack a female and rip her clothing off, all the while not caring if the incident is recorded. That makes no sense at all. The female and her lawyer are alleging that the officers never even asked her to submit to the search, that they just attacked her. That is absolutly UNBELIEVABLE. Why would they do that? No officer wants to be sued, fired, or criminally charged, yet they want everybody to believe that 7 or 8 officers all decided to go crazy and attack this woman for no reason, and despite the fact that a camera was recording. Please, use some common sense. This woman failed to comply and was forced to comply. She is now attempting to get a large payday out of it.

you are WAY off base-

She wasnt being put in jail-=she was arrested-which means holding cell-which means if she WASNT cooperating-they could have just let her scream her little heart out until they felt she would be manageable.

Second-when being booked-there is NO reason for a strip search-she wasnt doing anything that would require being put into general population-what, she murdered someone? She was seen by witness stabbing someone to death? SHE CALLED THE COPS HERSELF-for help-

Your remarks apply to a prisoner being booked on suspicion of murder-

it is very hard to believe , 5 deputies are supposedly manhandling this female while one dep is video taping, and the tape is made public,

you never see any other portion of the jail , no other cells, prisoners, deputies, booki ng anything.

the husband isn't even putting up a fuss

no lawyers , headlines nothing.

so everyone is kill the police , at least 6 of them are in cahoots .

so I reserve judgment and this has been posted over a month ago.

Negative. This is a county jail in Ohio. I used to work in a county jail in Ohio. I was also a patrol officer. She was charged with Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Arrest, both 1st degree misdemeanors. The next worse level of offense is felony. These charges do warrant placement into general population if she could not bond out, which is not mentioned in the article. I would assume that due to her behavior which forced the officers to remove her clothing for her, they decided to leave her in a holding cell for better observation. They probably thought the woman was drunk based on her disorderly and noncompliant behavior.

I will concede that she must have done SOMETHING-

and handing the police her dead sisters ID-sure it could be a keepsake that she carries-but it could have also been an attempt at elluding them as to her real identity.

At first-your emotions get rhiled-because lets face it-cops do abuse power sometimes-no doubt about it!

If she really was innocent as her case states-then she will get cash-either way-maybe they will post the facts of this case-OR just keep reposting the story for years to come as if it is new-as someone else had told me!

I still dont see why she just wouldnt be allowed to undress herself...or if she was-that should be addressed...

the real reason for her arrest-the cause-is not explained.

maybe she was on drugs-

STARK COUNTY, Ohio (WKYC-TV)-- Valentina Dyshko of North Canton has told WKYC-TV in Cleveland that she had to remove all her clothes inside the Stark County Jail.

Dyshko came forward to tell her story after she learned of Hope Steffey, the woman who was stripped naked by both men and women and left in a jail cell for six hours.(Watch the Original Report)

Dyshko says video of Steffey's treatment reminded her of what she experienced two years ago inside the same jail

The Sheriff in Cuyahoga County, Gerald McFaul, responded for the first time to Channel 3's investigation. He called the conduct by Stark County sheriff deputies "way out of line." McFaul went on to say that male deputies should never forcibly remove the clothes of a female

Well apparently in Cuyahoga County, emotionally distraut and noncompliant female inmates dictate how the jail is going to be run. I guess not all jails will let the inmates control the situation. Sounds like in Stark County, you follow policy, or they make you follow policy.

Yeah man, of course there a cops who get pissed and abuse their power sometimes. I've smacked around a couple of jerks myself before. But in this situation we are expected to believe that 7 officers, men and women, lost control and attacked this women while knowing they were on camera. 7 officers!! I don't buy that crap. I'll take the word of 7 officers and 1 sheriff over the word of some broad with a grudge and a money hungry lawyer any day.
