I think it's shameful they chose to have it on a night when everyone knows most churches have service on Wednesday night. Another example of putting God in second place.

It's Halloween October 31st every year. Why don't we just change Christmas too. How about the fact that some people have different beliefs we can't accommodate everyone. Lets change Easter too. It would be more convenient for me if it was in may. Haha I mean how many times a week do you need to go to church to pretend like your living by gods word.

That is the most retarded thing I have ever heard. It's Trick or Treat a night for kids to go out and have fun. It's nothing to do with God. That's just what the holiday fell on. People like you are what ruins everything. There's church every Wednesday and Sunday Halloween only comes once a year. Don't spoil the fun for the kids they enjoy it.

My god is a great & kind god he is loving & forgiving.I do believe he will give you one night off to take your kids trick or treating. And let them enjoy living and the life he blessed them with, to me it's worth it to see my lil one smile.By the way some churches around here participate "who doesn't want to see happy children?" One in lancer bottom gives out hot chocolate every year-really great people- & others give out candy and another church is having food for the kids and letting them trick or treat the church members cars. Check with your church they might be doing something special , if not maybe bring up the idea of doing something for the kids. Its only once a year chill out & let the little ones have their 2 hours of fun.

Julie: just to let you know, most of the churches here in Floyd county do a safe trick or treat for the kids anyway. The church community, which obviously you aren't a part also like to see the kids have fun. Here is a list of local churches that will be having safe trick or treat on trick or treat night regardless of what night is falls on:
Prestonsburg Community Church
Tommy's Reeds church in big branch of Abbott
Destination community Church
And the church on us 23 up the hill on the right just before you get to the holiday inn.

All churches are welcoming all members of the community to come and have a safe trick or treat. Everyone should try to make it out with their children!!!! God is good:-)

Well, at least there is one God-fearing person here. One person with some sense. Thank you. I agree with you. And to all those who say Halloween has nothing to do with God, you're all freaking blind idiots. It has EVERYTHING to do with God and Satan. Ever heard good vs evil going hand in hand with halloween? Some people are truly stupid.

Thank you for your support Sam and Pumpkin. I was in no way saying the children should not be allowed to go trick-or-treating (although it is a pagan holiday). I only meant it should have been scheduled for the night before Halloween. My only concern is trying to get in and out of the communities some of us live in. Some people participate in blocking the roads, egging the cars and throwing eggs, paint, etc. For those that replied in the negative - may God Bless and Keep You. The church I attend had a big party for the kids and adults this past Sat. and they had a great time.

Halloween is very evil, period. It is a time set aside to celebrate the evil dead. Many "Christians" are good people, with clean hearts, clean lifestyles, good behavior and fear of God. However, dressing little people up in costumes, whether they be devils, cartoon characters, animals or fairy tale royalty; it is a very sick ritual that many good parents allow their children to participate in due to their ignorance (lack of understanding). Fact, whether one is religious, Christian, Hindu or indifferent, Halloween is evil. My parents allow me to do this years ago, they are Christians, but they had a lack of knowledge. I do not even have a child in the home, but I know how the evil one can use what apppears to be innocent to penatrate homes and hearts.

You are an idiot. I'm sure God cares of people let their children dress up for trick or treating. Lol you are full of knowledge that doesn't exist!!!! Why don't you waste your time trying to stop drug dealers or thrives in the community who are distorting homes instead of tryin to convince Christians that halloween is evil. Halloween is what you make of it, as is Christmas. I'm sure god meant for people to spends thousands of dollars on other for his birthday... Bet your house celebrates that. Halloween is a matter of tradition NOT RELIGION. You can't judge people, that's Gods job and I'm 100% sure I will not be convicted for allowing my children to dress up and trick or treat for candy. I'm all about opinions but yours is flat out INSANE!!
