I currently work for them, I hate every second of it. I'm too slow physically to work in the kitchen, and they refuse to put me on the register. I always get backed up and I have like no help half the time. At the end of the day, I don't ever get to leave on time, I'm always over like an hour or so. It gets tiring and frustrating knowing that every day I have to go through it all again just so I can get the measly paycheck after two weeks.

I to currently work at Casey's. I have been with Casey's since 2002. Yes, they do have there problems like any other store. But from all the comments that I have just read it sound like to me either your managers and district managers suck and you let them walk all over you. No body is going to tell me to work if I'm not getting paid, that's just stupid on your part and just because there higher rank then you doesent mean you cant tell them how you fell they still have to treat you with respect they started out the same spot you are at. As for breaks my manager just had a meeting on this by law they don't have to give you a break, because with Casey's as long as your not busy and there is someone to cover your spot you can step outside. You don't have to be a smoker to get a brake. Every 4 hours is required a 15 but because Casey's doesent make you CLOCK OUT there not mandatory to give you or anyone one. My manager works up to 15 hours a day sometimes she doesent get paid for anything over her contract, which isent right but thats what they sign up for. To me it just sounds like some stores have a sucky manager and not a very good team. Yeah, my store has it's problems and I'm not saying that I havent ran an errand for the store but you have to remember you can so "NO"

I walked out of my job as a manager of Casey's after quite a few years. Got tired of all the bs, especially from the district manager and higher ups. My supervisor was okay. You are set up to fail no matter how hard you try. I suffered a nervous breakdown due in part because of this company. Right now I am not able to work at all. When you know you are right about something and that corporate made a mistake, it's like pulling teeth to get something done. While still employed there, I was always given an excuse about the issue. Since I quit I did pursue it and after hounding them with countless emails, I was finally acknowledged for finding the mistake in their account department and was paid the money that was due me. It's no wonder they get sued all of the time - because they think they can sweep things under the rug and it will be forgotten all because they are a huge company. Something I find a might strange and I just found out about it, is that they aren't even registered with the Better Business Bureau. Wonder if there's some reason behind that!!

It sounds like you have a lazey crew and managers.<quoted text> Casey's Corp Office wont do anything to help either. I can tell you that from my past employment there.

I worked for Casey's off and on for about 5 years. When I quit the manager would show up at my house and make me feel guilty for quitting. When corp took over the store I worked in I was told NOBODY would get a pay cut. LIERS!!!! I was dropped by 60 cents an hour. For months I told my manager to get it fixed and she would never do it. I quit again. Called corp. and they told me that my manager never reported it on time and I slipped through the cracks. I never did get my money. I was working up to 60 hours a week then. I went back after that cause there was no other job in that town. Once again I was messed with. They needed an asst manager and there was a toss up between me and a kid who never graduated high school or got his GED.(I was attending college to be a paralegal at the time). Well this kid advertises his sex life and made advances to customers and....well he was not the person for the job. As I said; I quit again. Not long after that my husband and I had a vehicle repod and lost our house cause I quit my job and was unable to find anything close to where my kids attended school. We now live in OK and have debt up to our eyes and we are doing our best to recover from our past. It all really sucks. But as the saying goes...we learn from our mistakes. It just took me several time and the loss of most our personal items. Deal with it and move on. Can't change the past.

I was told that if it is the stores fault that something isn't done or not ordered that it was my job to deal with it on my own time. I DONE THE SAME THING AND I DONE IT FOR THREE YEARS ALSO I WAS NOT CALLED THE MANAGER OR THE ASSISTANT MANAGER I WAS JUST A COOK/CASHIER/DONUT MAKER BUT I DONE ALL THE RUNNING THE ORDERING THE BOOK WORK EVERY MORNING AND IF NO ONE SHOWED UP I WENT IN TO WORK AND I ONLY GOT PAYED 40 HRS A WEEK . MANAGER WAS ALWAYS LATE IF SHE SHOWED UP. ASSISTANT MANAGER WOULD SAY SHE HAD A LIFE BESIDES CASEYS.THEN MANAGER AND ASSISTANT MANAGER QUIT AND I RAN THE STORE OPENED AND CLOSED HALF THE TIME. I GOT A DOLLAR AN HR. RAISE BUT ONLY GOT PAYED 40 HRS. I WROTE MY RIGHT TIME ON THE SIGN IN SHEET AND THE DISTRIC MANAGER WROTE ME UP FOR NOT WRITING DOWN SCHEDULED TIME. After bringing to attention our stores managers THEFT and doctoring of the books. The Assistant manager was fired- why? She's the one who made the report...The district manager did not do anything to our manager nor did they investigate why? Easy! She was in on it, day after day we watched her laughing as she walked into his office, shut the door and came out with bulging coat pockets. Only to drive off in her brand new corvette or her mercedes... We as employees never saw overtime, rarely got breaks including long 10+ hour shifts!!! Soon 3 employees were let go for "theft" but were never charged.... sound like a cover up to anyone? Today I finally got back a check for owed money via a law suit against these crime lords at caseys... my overtime. I myself worked there less than 8 months and my check was over 400 dollars makes you wonder just how much they took from their employees as a whole...
