Seneca School ( Mr. Crist )

I heard that Mr. Crist was escorted out of Seneca School yesterday and wouldn't be aloud back. Does anyone have any info about this??

Its true. I am glad someone posted this. Our school district is falling apart. He has been suspended indefinitly pending investigation. No one really knows what is going on or what happened.

Its truly awful what is going on with our school. I'm thinking of pulling my kids and taking them to Ellicottville.

Do you know what he is being investigated for? Why was he ecorted off school grounds?

He was escorted off the property because he was been suspended- apparently is procedure. No one knows what is going on.

I heard they are going to keep whatever it is quiet and let him take his retirement. It'll come out in this town someday thoghl.

My guess is either a) someone above Doug Hay doesn't like Mr. Crist anymore; or b) Mr. Crist is making too much money. Outside possibility is that the board wants to put a new, improved principal - maybe someone with connections to people on the board - in that position. Hey, isn't Bob's buddy Mr. Hart available?

Since the board doesn't particularly care about how much money they're spending on people, I have to think it's because Mr. Crist is no one's favorite, anymore.

In any case, we won't hear anything about this, except whatever the board implies, because it's "confidential," and they won't be allowed to say exactly why they're doing this.

Does any of this sound familiar?

Let me tell you and all the other rumor mongerers what Mr. Crist is guilty of. "Speaking his mind". Nothing more and nothing less! Mr. Crist and Mr. Hay agreed to disagree and this is the result! God forbid that anyone in this decaying city speak out or dissent from those supposedly in power. It might improve things. Mr. Hay for one has no "line experience", never having been a teacher. That does not in my estimation make him strongly suited for the job he holds. Secondly, a number of people on the school board have agendas. Not necessarily agendas to make the quality of education better in Salamanca, but agendas that often have a selfish or personal vent to them. Salamanca in general needs help in just about all areas. This certainly includes the school system. When you have respected and relatively long term teachers pulling their kids out of Salamanca Schools and moving to nearby communities to educate them, it can't speak well for what is going on here. As long as the outbound migration of what you might call "good people" leaves from this city and the influx of marginal residents takes their place, things will decline. It has and will continue to make this once proud, clean and productive city a pit. Of course years and years of crooked and/or useless politicians at Federal, State, County and Local levels just adds to the pollution but that is unlikely to change since most people in this city don't vote.

All I know is if I was younger and my kids were still in school here, I would move out of this decaying town and get my kids out of this school system.

Perhaps the Press has a policy stating it's impolite to speak ill of / the truth about the board? Can't say for sure.

Your comments in this regard are very insightful AND you are dead right about Bob Crandall's buddy Tom Hart. Bob is just trying to figure out where and how to insert Tom in his new job with as little fanfare as possible.

Just got off the phone with the superintendent's secretary: the next board meeting is tonight, 11/17, at 6:30 pm, in the high school Large Group Instruction Room. I'm not sure where that is, or if that's what they now call the auditorium, but if you'd care to find out more about this issue, or show your support for Mr. Crist, here's your chance.

Someone should ask if they plan to announce Mr. Hart as the next principal at tonight's meeting, or the next one. Or maybe they'll just sneak him in and hope no one notices.
