These opponents are why Buffalo never gets anything accomplished. Pathetic snobs with nothing better to do than wine and complain.

Citizens for a better buffalo huh, well it seems to me that your group is small in numbers and in no way represents how I nor how many others feel, so how about changing your name to something that represents your small numbers. Go spend the money you are getting on something worthwhile, like feeding the homeless or dressing kids for winter that cant afford it. Quit lining the pockets of attorneys and yourselves and do something that is worthwhile. The casino is there, and you know what contrary to what you think, I truly believe it will be there for a long time to come. If people want to go there it's their business, not yours.

The little casino sucks. It is infested with poor perople trying to get rich. I kind of see why these casino opponents are trying to stop constuction. They don't want the Perry projects people spending their welfare checks on gambling. It certainly seemed that way when I went there the other day. However the casino works in Niagara Falls. Maybe the Falls casino is all we need. Besides it is in driving distance.

Since when do the Citizens for a Better Buffalo speak for the majority? If they don't like the casino, then don't go there. Simple..Problem solved.

so are these Citizens for a Better Buffalo against the Lottery or bingo?
People are going to gamble whether you like it or not. If you are for a Better Buffalo, why don't you go do something worthwhile? Like going out on the streets and volunteering for Meals on Wheels, cutting the grass and painting for senior home owners. Getting the word out to Buffalo residents to stop throwing their garbage in the streets and use garbage cans.
How about trying to get the drugs and guns off our streets?
Citizens for a Better Buffalo are probably over on the Elmwood strip, and have never stepped foot in da hood and see the problems we have. And it ain't gambling in a casino that concerns us!

Croc, if the Perry projects people, or anyone else in Buffalo, want to waste money gambling they can do it even if the casino is outlawed.

There's the NY State Lottery, for example.

But on the other hand there's also many responsible people in Buffalo who enjoy having a casino closer than Niagara Falls.

So why should those responsible people have the casino taken away from them as an entertainment option just because you think it sucks (if you don't like it, don't go there) and because the Coalition For a More Elitist Buffalo thinks they can succeed as nannies to save poor people from their own bad decisions (laughably impossible!)

Casino opponents - go home and find something better to do instead of lining pockets of attorneys and the like. It is no wonder nothing gets done here. Studies, naysayers and the political atmosphere all prevent this area from rebuilding. Why don't the citizens for a better Buffalo figure out a way for us to have cheaper electricity (Wind Farms) or a new Peace Bridge. Like I mentioned earlier, the casino project is in no way a silver bullet project but it is a start and you need to take a chance on building something that may spark other projects. If you do nothing, the answer is always no.

I blame the court system for allowing these people for even being able to proceed. What we need in this are is a chargeback to these people who are spending our money to defend these childish, selfish lawsuits. Perhaps if we hit their pockets for the cost of the any lawsuit brought forward and is lost. They might think twice or better yet maybe they will MOVE OUT OF THE AREA SO WE CAN MOVE FORWARD WITH ALL THE STALLED PROJECTS!!!!! It s very sad that a few obstructionists are taking this whol;e area down.

Give it up all you naysayers and put your time and energy to work at the city mission. At least you would be doing something worth while..

Who are these concerned citizens who have more than one million dollars to spend on legislating adult behavior? Which firm is their lawyer, Finnerty from?

Couldn't these self appointed perfectionists who wish to regulate Native Americans try to stop the NY State Lottery?

Who are these people?

Tell the anti casino group to mind their own business. No one is mandated to go to the casino and if you dont like it stay away. This is a freedom of choice issue and one small group shouldn't dictate what the rest of the areas population does. Enough is Enough.

What good is a casino going to do for Buffalo?? I worked at the casino in Niagara Falls for over a year and it's the worse possible thing for Buffalo. Nobody is going to come from out of town to go to a casino in Buffalo. All you are going to get are a bunch of drug dealers, and gambling addicts that shouldn't be there, and the only ones making money are the Indians. Put something downtown to draw people and let some white people make money for once. If people from out of town really want to go to a casino why would they go to Buffalo, and not Niagara Falls, Syracuse or even Atlantic City???

You are exactly right!!!! The casino in Niagara Falls does work, but just barely. And I would argue at some times during the year it doesn't. I worked there for over a year and there are a ton of welfare people, drug dealers and gambling addicts that souldn't be there. During the summer there are more people from out of town that helps it work. Like I said when I posted my comments why would anyone but the people that shouldn't be there go to buffalo??

You are mistaken ! That wasn't the casino you were in....it was a convenience store on the east side selling New York State Lottery tickets and Quick Draw to those poor people. The Coalition for a Better Buffalo better start suing that store right away !
