StreetFest

It is all most time for StreetFest and I hate to say I dread it.When I first moved here I couldn't wait for sreetfest it was great so many different things to do and see.But now what 6 or 7 booths and all the same stuff you can buy at the dollar store.I mean it sucks.and while I'm at it .Our Christmas Parades are getting pretty small too.These things are what I liked the most about this town that people cared.Now if it gets done so be it.

You are a Trance Plant , don't be trying to down what we do have , go back to where you were orginally if you don't like it..If you dreaded street fest why did u even come town square if you dreaded it so back ..Keep your whiney ass at home ..See if we care..

I don't know if you can't read or what .But I was not whining .I loved streetfest and went and enjoyed but like (i care) said cancelled for lack of interrest.The reason I said I dreaded it is because it is all gone no great vendors like Kathy White she made and sold her dolls here and I own one. I own Princess Jade (Indian Doll).So you stay home and learn to understand what you read.ok.

There is going to be a fair. It will replace and try to improve upon the streetfest.

Lets define "STREETFEST"
Means Street...What hurt the fest is when they put it to the parking lot..If they had it back in the square, it would do so much better...believe it or not..its so true..Location means everything...All you had to do was walk around a freakin parking lot...But when it was in the square it seemed to be more fun because you could actually walk around, it isnt a Parking-lot-fest!

I saw that there was going to be a fair this year but I loved streetfest so much UNTIL they moved it into the old factory's parking lot. It kinda made it seem so small and dull. I hope this fair is as great as the street fest was.

You are completely correct lets define. I know I didn't enjoy going to the Streetfest near as much after it moved to the parking lot. It was so much more fun on the square. That's why Byrdstown still has a good turn out for the 4th of July celebration.

I agree I use to go every year, but when they moved it to the parking lot its just not the same anymore. I dont see why they cant move it back to the square. However I am glad to see that we are having a fair this year! But there is no reason they cant try to improve the streetfest/(parking-lot-fest) instead of just doing away with it!

I have been reading all these comments about Streetfest and I have a comment of my own. All of you who have made comments about what should have been done, could have been done etc. where were you when the streetfest committee had their meetings. The meetings were announced in the local paper and that was the purpose of the meetings to get feedback on how to improve streetfest. Its not like the commitee would start getting ready for it in June or July, it was a year round process. So I would like to make a suggestion , if you have a complaint about the fair when it gets here, go to a horsemen association member and let them know dont wiat until everything is said and done. Maybe we will be able to keep the fair, Lord knows Pickett County needs something of the sort.

Please don't take this as criticizing because I am very happy to see a fair come to town. Did anyone notice the sign on 111 that says Pharris wheel instead of ferris wheel. I thought to myself .. only in B-town.

Actually Pharris is a variation of the surname Ferris who is the guy who invented the Ferris wheel so in a sense they're right although they probably didn't know it!
