PARSIPPANY -- A Parsippany Hills High School student was arrested at school after being caught with marijuana, police said. via Daily Record

No surprise here. Parsippany Hills sports is rife with students abusing drugs and alcohol, knowing there will be no retribution from the school - even when they engage on campus. It's the old story: School "spirits" first, then, if they have to be bothered, the school may stop this type of destructive and illegal behaviour.

My son comes home and tells me what the kids on the teams are allowed to get away with and wonders why they are treated differently by the school. He knows if he ever did half the stuff, he'd be suspended, or worse.

I guess the school has its priorities.

Wow, I can't believe this is finally being discussed openly. Where are the other parents that know about this behavior? Where are the school administrators? Where is the school's "resource officer"? Why are the security guards the only ones that try and take action? Are they all so concerned about PHHS making it big in sports that they forget what is really important. All our kids are hurt by the actions of these few.

What is most telling is that not one school administrator, teacher, or police representative has made any effort to address the grievances posted here. The belief, simply put, is if they leave it alone, maybe it will go away forgetting that the students on the teams are allegedly role models.

Drug on dude! No one will bother you - until someone dies that is. And then everyone will begin the fingerpointing.

LOL....If the parents knew half of it. But the school resource officer does, and he does nothing except sit in his office. The school "athletes" are off-limits to him. And do you really expect the admin to do anything? Please. Wake up. The Vikings are too important to school morale. As if.

Sorry folks. That post by "We rule" says a lot. We're stuck and told hands off. Some cops don't mind, the rest of us have our hands tied. Don't like it? There's a Board election coming up; there's the County Prosecutor; or you can just keep sitting on your hands and pray your kids graduate before they're sucked in.
