Don't be scared. Its intimidating at first, but just try to make friends. Your kid will probably freak out with the move but it will be ok! I moved out of TX with my family and at first I hated it, then we moved back to TX and I hated it again!!! You'll get use to where your going. Just have faith and everything will be ok!!!:)

Good luck to you and your family!

I've always lived in Texas and have never traveled out of the state. My family and friends are here. I live in a small town where everybody knows everybody.
Well today my spouse was offered a great job position with his company, the only catch is we have to relocate to another state. I've always said that I would like to get out of this town and start over, but now that it's happening I'm scared. I would like to get my kid out of this school district because of the bullying that goes on and I want her to have a fresh start also.
Has anyone ever been in this situation before ? Im hoping to get some positive advice, but I'm sure that the wanna-be Eloteman or Someone else will post something negative.
Just believe this promotion was offered for a reason. God will open doors for you & your family to live a bountiful life. Trust God to direct your footsteps. May His favor be upon you and may everything your hands touch prosper. "Fear not for I am always with you says the Lord". Be blessed in whatever you decide to do.

I was in a similar situation. My wife joined the navy. We had no kids. She got stained in Virginia. being on the other side of the country from family and friends was tough. But it was a great experience. Meet new people. Join new church. Learn other cultures. A fresh start. before coming back home, I felt the same.

When moving with kids, make it joyful and exciting, if you are excited they will be also, give the kids tasks to do and ideas on how they want their new room decorated. And maybe participate in their ideas. Discuss the different cultures in other states, Alot of Texans thinks that chorizo and eggs/faijitas tacos are in all states, you wilthats not true. Moving sucks, so do your research the location online, school district, age groups, and restaurants, if you love HEB, will start loving Food Lion or Krogers, Wal-mart more. I have travel the world and always say that there is no place like home, and thats Alice, Texas.
