Word of advice to those who want to buy a truck and sand trailer. If you have money to repair $400 tires, do it. These trucks usually need tires replaced quite often. Oh and the oil changes run about $600. If you have money to invest, go for it. If you don't have the money and you need to apply for a loan, good luck! And don't expect to make alot of Money your first check. It takes a lot of money to start making this kind of money.
I looked over my receipts because $600 did not sound accurate. A basic oil change will run around $240. If you need an air & fuel filter it might cost more. But $600?? Not even close

Tires are expensive - I will agree with that...but you can always run re-caps on a trailer.

Someone needs to get their facts straight.

Lease your truck to Sandpro. They have drivers or you can hire your own. Sand trailers are hard to find..but they are available. Flatbeds cost a lot less and make the same as a sand trailer. Just something to think about.

We all have bills to pay & Sandpro knows this. Nobody is holding a gun to our heads to lease with Sandpro. If your not happy, there is always Acme, Racer, Ainsworth, heck take your pick.

Also, more then once I haven't been paid for a load because my driver didnt complete his paperwork, turned it in late or not at all. It's MY job to make sure that I've done my part in order to be paid on time & correctly.

In your opinion, since you have a sand trailer already then can you answer the question on the topic? Should someone buy a trailer or not? Is it worth it?
