Hello, curious. I hoe he finds a job. I understand at he is going through, i myself have a felony and am planning on relocating to the alice area. The oilfield has changed in terms of hiring methods, with background checks being conducted, but it also depends on the severity of the felony conviction. I have worked for Precision Drilling with a felony, also with Air Equipment a casing company. Now as i said most big companies will hire you even with a felony. But drug offenses, theft, and violence/assault convictions are usually turn offs during the hiring proccess. But dont let him become discouraged, as most require a DL at least. With experience, i think that they will overlook some felonies. But dont take my word for it. Drilling companies will hire as long as you can pass a drug screen and physical with some felonies barring employment. Also workover companies will do the same. Companies who employ CDL drivers are more strict when it comes to felonies, because you are operating a company vechicle. and most times if you have warrants or charges, The d.o.t./DPS will stop you for any reason, or a dot inspection, and they will run your license. And if you have something they will arrest you. Leaving behind alot of money, with the cost of equipment, waste of time, picking up the vehicle outof the impound, lots of hassel. so just keep him trying, im sure that he will get something. Just dont let himn become discouraged as i said. Not everyone is a model citizen, and some of us just happen to mess up. The key ishe is now looking to change his life and do something better, and thats all that matters. Good luck to him and if he does employ, please post to maybe help out anyne else who may need some assistance.

i befriended on facebook with someone who is coordinating some kind of virtual trucking job fairs. i haven't been on one yet but i might go this time 'cuase it's online. apparently you can chat live with recruiters and ask questions. maybe there will be recruiters from oil companies that you can ask. anyway, this is it: www.truckingvirtualjobfairs.com . i hope this helped.
