Although 65 bucks certainly won’t break the bank, I’m not going to partake. The truth is that local newspapers already are niche papers with the local news as the niche. You’re not going to catch what happened at JWC Fair on CNN.com . I’ll stick to the Caller… As long as they’re free too.

no one is going to pay to view the alice paper online. they are going to lose the few businesses that advertise on their site by charging the public. the alice paper is a joke to begin with.

They should just let people read it for free again. People miss out on important breaking news (if there ever is any)

You know, I think it's pretty awesome that my hometown, Alice, TX, has so many people from far and wide who care and are concerned about the news, events, issues and activities surrounding that tiny speck in the universe. It is a shame, however, that the Echo has chosen to conduct business in this manner. Maybe we shouldn't care about Alice so much. Does CNN or The New York Times charge to view their online publications? I guess this level of audacity and GREED is commonplace in ALICE.

With the Echo charging $2 for their Sunday edition and $1 for Wednesday and Friday, the online edition is a welcome addition. Thanks for saving us poor folks some money. We'll use it to pay our internet bill.
