Let's try something positive on here...what are good streets to take the kids trick or treating this year? Where are all the good spirited Alicians at? Or would we have a better shot going to Corpus?

I wish the City of Alice would do what other cities in this area do, and encourage trick or treating on the weekend, since Halloween is going to fall in the middle of a week. Just my opinion lol!!!

I wish people would take their children trick or treating in their own neighborhood. I grew up on Rose Dr and remember how fun it use to be to give candy out. But now I've since moved away and have children of my own. My parents still live on Rose Dr. And quite frankly it is ridiculous the amount of people that come down our street. What was once fun is now ridiculous.
My children and I trick or treat in our own neighborhood for about 3-4 blocks and it is so much fun. They get just enough candy that they can have for about two weeks. When we visit for Halloween I see children with huge bag of candies that probably ends up in the trash. All you need is a little people.

Candy is expensive and I feel for my parents so I pitch in every year so that they can still be able to do this.

Oh and by the way parents maybe you should stop at a reasonable time and not ring our doorbell and 9 or 10 at night.

I agree that it does get a little silly, grandma's trick or treating for their grandkids (who are not with them) or the grown woman that was trick or treating... with her dog.

There are kids that get made because we give them one or two pieces of candy 'because we have a sh*tload' and then cuss us out when we don't comply. The kids ring the doorbell at 10pm on a school night after my kiddo is already in bed because they know we are one of the major hit homes on Rose. We LOVE to do Halloween but others still need to be respectful.

Of all the Mexicans that go trick or treating "in the rich side " of town....I'd be embarrassed to take my kids over there. We attend the Fall Festival at the church. It's safer and there are better things to enjoy instead of just walking around a neighborhood.

You have to understand that the Lone Star crowd think candy is food, so they want to go to the richer parts of town and get all they can. You know, the same people that think flaming hot cheetos and a big red is a complete meal. I suggest just turning off your porch light when you want to stop supplying the moochers of this town there years supply of candy. Besides, I have heard people like this talking the next day how stupid they think we are for handing out so much candy. By the way, who is handing out candy at their house while the entire family is out in neighborhoods all over town?

Rose isn't the only neighborhood that gets slammed and I dare not to say where we live because we have enough kids that come and are not from our neighborhood. We buy close to 500.00 every year but I'm not doing it this year. I'll spend half of that and when the candy is finished I'm turning off lights.
