It will affect you for the rest of your life. There's no time limit as to how long it will show up, it's there for good.

Dude, depends on what you got convicted of. You need to go talk with a lawyer. If you have no money, there is legal aid, if it's available in this area. However, since you have a computer, try looking up the statue that you got convicted under. It will be n there as well (it's part of the law). Good Luck!

Thanx for the 411 but I've never been convicted but got probation and had to give my money away to greedy bastards . But have plead guilty to a charge. Will that help me out in let's say 10 years of zero trouble? If I'm seeking employment can they see anything pasted 10 years?

Texas: Business & Commerce Code Chapter 20 20.05 Reporting of information Prohibited.(a) Except as provided by Subsection (b), a consumer reporting agency may not furnish a consumer report containing information related to:(4) a record of arrest, indictment, or conviction of a crime in which the date of disposition, release, or parole predates the consumer report by more than seven years. Exception: If the salary of an individual equals or is reasonable expected to equal $75,000 or more, the 7-year restriction does not apply.

Note: this code does not apply if you are applying for a government job

Ummmm so as long as its been over 7 years and I don't make over 75,000 I'm good..? Lol. I'm sorry. But reading that and understanding it is to hard for me. Yeah I know. I sound like a dumbass. Lol I can admit that on my own :) I already know a smart a$$ is gonna put me down. It's cool. Thanx for taking the time to look that up for me.

Just because you google a law doesn't mean it accurate. This law is regarding applying for credit. Not on a background check for employment. First off if you got probation then that's a conviction. That means you either went to a trial before a judge or jury unless you took a plea. Once you been convicted it can never be expunged. If you were arrested and nothing ever happened with the case and the statue of limitation is up. Then you can hire a lawyer and have it expunged from your record.
