"Cruelty to animals can be a felony punishable by jail time or up to a $20,000 fine"-actually, the punishment should be death by poisoning. Whoever did this has some serious mental issues and should be put away.

That story is very sad as well as the other story about those three dogs that were shot. When I lived in Utah (i was around 7) my family had two dogs. They were sisters that we got from a shelter in NC before we had moved. One was my mom's dog, the other was mine and I loved her more than anyone could imagine, she'd been my only friend since I was 2. Our neighbors were a mean, bitter couple that for some reson didn't like us, i was too young to be told why and have never asked. One day, my moms dog collapsed and my step-dad rushed off to the vet with her but she died on the way. The vet said her heart just gave out on her and there was nothing to be worried about concerning our other dog. A few days later, my dog collapsed but she made it to the vet and boy was she a fighter. It was determined that she was poisoned( and concluded that our other dog had been too)and nothing could be done so we had to put her too sleep. Next day our neigbors were gone (moved out) when the police went to visit them. We found dog food by the fence with a weird smelling substance on it and so the police thought it was them but had no clue where they went. My family has done a lot of rescue work but I never got my own dog again until 3 years ago and I would give up an arm for him. We've also had a dog shot before. We had a big black rescue one time and he was out in the dog run but someone escaping from the police ran through our yard and shot him in the head. We filed a report because they caught the guy but we were told it couldn't be proven even though they had seen the fatal bullet wound in the dogs head.
We need to take animal violence more seriously if not just for the love of innocent lives then at least people need to recognize it doesn't take a huge leap from harming animals to harming people.

I found some meat like that in my front yard luckily before my dogs got it, the poison turned the meat purply.

I would say someone is going to try to rob his house, or his neighbors...

I agree, if someone intentionally hurt any of my pets, I would be more than happy to hurt them.

If I ever caught someone doing this, I would beat them until they were bloody.

Our dogs are family members. I someone poisoned our dog, it would be the same as another member of the family. Not good news for the sickos that do this.

And, I thought all of the sickest, most twisted freaks in American had moved to what remains of "progressive" California. You, Sir are the scum of the Earth.

My next door neighbors (the neighbors from hell) poisoned another neighbor's dog. She could never prove it, but we all knew who did it. I once found broken glass in my yard next to this neighbor's fence. Again, I couldn't prove anything. I now keep a digital camera ready any time I see them in their yard. If they reach over the fence & I see them, I've got 'em on camera.

Daily Horoscope for December 9

Leo

You're really on the ball today so there's no danger of anyone tricking you or fobbing you off with lame excuses. If you suspect that a loved one is hiding something from you, you'll want to question them in a lot of detail. That's all very well but try not to turn it into the third degree, nor to make them feel hounded or bullied by your desire to know what's going on.
