Rather than feeling relieved and relaxed after a long day at work I'm sickened to see the neighbors renting a house across from me constantly blasting their car radios and hanging out on the street corner with their pants hanging off their a$$.

After witnessing gang activity, tagging, and fights, I am concerned for my family.
Why do the other neighbors just seem to ignore the problems, why aren't there more people calling on the CPD to come and patrol the old side of C'Ville? Why is it they can sit around at 25 and just wait for someone to ticket - that's not in my definition of serve and protect! If they're not sitting around waiting to fill a ticket quota then I can just as easily find them coming and going around the new side of C'Ville.

I moved to Carpentersville from Chicago to be closer to a job and it was the worst mistake I have ever made. I knew nothing about the misery this village would cause. I have lived on the South, West and North side of Chicago and never have I felt so unsafe, paranoid and just plain P!ssed off living in any neighborhood. With such a lazy incompetent leadership in the village hall and non-existent police presence, the village continues to deteriorate along with any value my property once had.

By the way - all you narrow minded racist people of Carpentersville did a fine job of running out all mortgage and tax paying immigrants, now all we have are empty and foreclosed houses and businesses that make great billboards for all the taggers and did wonders for property values, believe me I verified this with a real estate agent.

I feel for you. I was raised in cville and am sad to see it destroyed by people who just dont care. I owned a home on hickory back in 1990 and realized the town was going straight to hell back then because of our so called town leaders. If I were you I would run and run fast before you lose all if any equity you have in your home.I lost money but i have found peace.

Stressed_in_CVil le...Who drove mortgage and tax paying immigrants out? The foreclosed houses and businesses you see are a direct result of banks giving loans to people that had no way to pay.
This is not racist...just business.
As for YOUR problem...call the police, and turn on all your outside lights at night.
When the police get tired of you calling...they will take care of YOUR problem.
