Pitts is the pit. We do not want him as mayor. He has done a poor job on the city council.

Who would you like to see run for Mayor of Tupelo?

We need some young blood in there with innovative ideas to move this city forward.

We need new faces. We don't need people who are still in office running for Mayor. We need a younger person that can be open to new ideas and bring in more entertainment and a better lifestyle for young people & adults.

I do not know anyone who would be a good mayor or if they're willing to. We'll just have to wait it out till we get to see who the mayor candidates will be. I'd hate to have the current Council having to run for mayor. NO to PITTS!

You're all idiots.

No young person can be Mayor (20's, even 30's). They would have to quit their career and job for four years. Unless they are rich already or work in a family job, that won't happen. It's the older, retiring age people who can hold mayoral office positions, OR the rich who don't need to work. And the rich and wealthy young people don't care about local politics. And if a young person who was already wealthy ran, you guys would dog them out too for being rich.

And as for someone on the council running, OF COURSE, who else ALREADY KNOWS city budget information, city policy information. If you want a stranger to public policies and a complete non-experienced person to pop in and win Mayor, you are insane.

I'd love to have someone who already has been working in City government to then continue on a mayoral level. You want someone who knows what they are doing.

With Fred Pitt's son being at the CDF we know from the start what to expect. More of the same, government by edict from the Big House. Maybe Fred could streamline city government by moving council meetings to the lobby at CDF.

The future has no job security. Anyone who can get the popular support to be Mayor will never have to worry about making a living. The connections you make will be valuable for life.

As I see Pitts interviewed on tv ..he no longer is wearing glasses. He might have gotten contact lens or Lasix surgery to appear younger and hip to appeal to the younger crowd for Tupelo.

No Pitts........please

You forgot to mention his second cousin's brother's UPS driver's dad who works in the State office in Jackson. And his neighbor's cousin who is a policy maker for utility companies in Washington DC. and you forgot his wife's 3rd cousin's sister's great-grandmother's daughter's husband's second cousin's wife who had an affair with the Speaker of the House's step-brother and now sits on an appropriation's committee in Jackson. Oh...and you especially cannot leave out the fact that Pitts' son has a college buddy who married into the family of a neighbor of the guy who was the roomate's brother to the sister of three-times-removed-cousin of one of the Lee County Supervisors..

SO DAMN! Yeah, we are screwed if Pitts wins...he's got his fingers in too many things in town. That will definitely KILL his skill to be a good Mayor. we MUST find a candidate who doesn't know ANYONE in town, has ZERO connections and is a COMPLETE outsiders to the ways that a city (especially Tupelo) is run, has been run and seeing changes that need to be done...

darn. And to think i was gonna vote for him.
