When will KOB stop embarrassing itself with so many typos in nearly all of its stories? This one is riddled with them.

Traffic is a big revenue generator for the city. When the police catch a killer or rapist, it costs the city money. When they write you a ticket, the city gets money. That is why the city prefers traffic over violent crimes.

Meanwhile back on I-40...

Had a Dr appt DT Monday and as I was in the San Pedro area of I-40 going west - DOING THE SPEED LIMIT OF 45 IN THE CENTER LANE - I was passed by a semi (60±) and a pickup going close to 75 and a pair of rice grinders doing the same.

Ticket their sorry tails, over and over and over!

Aproximately 300,000 + vehicles a day use the Big-I. Putting 2 cops in the area to monitor speeders is like putting a band-aid on an amputation.

I swear, there is an accident on I-40 almost everyday.... yesterday there were two big ones.

I drove on Dallas highways for many years, they did not have accidents on any one particular highway EVERY DAY !!!

My man says the same thing he is from Dallas and is always shocked at how people here have no idea how to drive on the interstate or at all for that matter.

I am glad to see the police are cracking down on speeders, long overdue. My question is, are all construction zones 30 miles per hour, even if a speed isn't posted. On Rio Bravo, a crew has been working on one of the lanes, so that lane is closed down. The speed is normally 45 mph, but, I haven't seen a lower speed posted, so are we able to go 45 mph in the open lane?

Do what the posted speed limit is. If they feel it needs to be a slower speed, they will post the speed limit as such. This also apply when the construction workers are not there. If its posted as being slower, you still have to do the slower speed limit.

I would be happy to slow down. However, other drivers nearly rear end me, swerve to avoid hitting me, flip me off, and get very angry. So the choice comes to drive the speed of the traffic or get a ticket. They never catch the real bad drivers, only the rest of us.

That should read drive the speed limit, make everyone mad, get rear ended or drive the speed of the traffic and get a ticket.

I agree that Albuquerque has a lot of bad drivers, that also like to hit my car. But, how about APD nabbing some of the Cold-blooded killers out there, instead of taking money from the taxpayers for going a little over the speed limit????

By the same token, if people would follow the traffic laws, we'd have no red light/speeding cameras. No need to enforce the speed limit in construction zones. End result, more police available to catch miscreants!

I still want to see what percentage of tickets go to red light runners as opposed to speeders...

I'm tired of taking my life in my hands to drive in this city, so APD wrote a few tickets and now they are the good guys. How about the idea they finally started doing their job, if they would keep doing their job this might be a city worth living in. Personally I’m sick of seeing APD cars speeding while the cop is talking on a cell phone. Setting a good example may be a good place to start.
