To Whom it May Concern,
I am the mother of Penny cook, who lives at 205 E. Ohio Street in Waynesfield, Ohio. Due to the fact that I cannot be at the Waynesfield, Ohio City Council Meeting tonight because we live in Florida during the winter months, I have decided to search every avenue on the internet that will connect me to someone who will listen in regards to the serious flooding problem that my daughter is having in Waynesfield.
Here is a little background about my daughter and her family. So you can see she is of fine character and only seeks help in her desperate situation. My daughter is a single struggling hardworking person with two daughters. The oldest daughter has put herself through film college and graduated last year. The second daughter does well in sports and hopes someday to have a scholarship in that field that will put her through college.
Because of the lack of proper water drainage within her location in Waynesfield, her downstairs has been totally ruined. It will cost her $10,000 to $12,000 to repair. She has shown this damage to several people, including the mayor of Waynesfield. They do not believe it is their problem. That is so unrealistic. Who problem is it if not the city of Waynesfield? More rain is to come and she has no money to make the repairs.
This to me is a political refusal to help her. Is not the people who we vote in suppose to be there for us especially since it is the city problem and not hers?
You tell me. It is a proven fact that the council does not even know where the old tiles are since it has been so so many years ago .
Who is going to do anything for a single mother who has no political strings? Who has worked hard all of her life to do the best she can? Who is going to help a woman who does not have the money to fight city hall?
I am truly disappointed in the reactions of the city council of Waynesfield, Ohio, who choose to ignore my daughter's problem.
I wonder how comfrotable their house is when it rains. Are they shovelling out water? Are they trying to get a loan to fix it. Do they put in 56 hours of work almost every week to make ends mee only to come home to several flooded rooms to deal with?
This has not only destroy her whole downstairs, but also her furniture.
Yes she had insurance. They paid for a computer that got destroy in the first flood. Since then Penny has been on their own her insurance will not pay for something that is the city's problem.
Go talk to her. She could use your help. You know and I know that any recognition whether it be from a newspaper or a friend will keep her fight going. Someone surely needs to listen.
You will find that my daughter is not the only one who has been flooded on that street, but she is the worst case.
So are you going to help her?
