manufactuers complain of lack of talent and ability in the workplace

WHY should that surprise us?!
Here's how it works. Unfortunately the progressives (in name only) have infiltrated the social infrastructure over a period of a lifetime.
They run the government and SURPRISE? the schools.
And don't blame the peon teachers; (at least some) they're just the peons. If one of the peons steps one big toe out of line, the admin people and the teacher's unions will come down on them like a ton of bricks.
It is the government, the unions and the admin that sets school policy as to what the future adults will learn in school.(notice I said "future adults" to make a point) School boards are merely figureheads. You doubt this, try being active in the system being a concerned PARENT and see where it gets you.
Where am I going on this? Here it is.. children are "future adults" right? Well, these "progressives" increasingly try to shut the parents OUT and take control of the TRAINING, or shall I say INDOCTRINATION of the children, the future adults. More and more these innocent children, and ignorant or lazy parents, are being used to conform to a specific dependent objective.
True education that will provide these children, young adults with intellectual, technical and physical skills that will enable them to get future work and contribute to society AND have a FREE WILL is not in the system's agenda. Sorry to burst the bubble, but it's true.
THAT is part of why we are in the situation we are today and the workplace is having to hire foreigners. It is because our AMERICAN generation of young people AND parents were fed LIES! And it's too easy to trust that the system will do its job properly. I made that mistake. Blessedly, I found out soon enough to pull our children out of the public system and put them into private institutions that WOULD teach them what they needed to know. Homeschoolers fare better too, especially since, at least in Virginia, a college education is REQUIRED for a homeschooling parent.
(The pathetic thing of it is, now the COLLEGES are starting the same thing) VERY expensive mistake, yes?
The schools also have their little media campaigns saying how great they are and that if you don't finish, you're doomed. Well, I think further investigation proves that the opposite is true. If you go only on public education--you're doomed.
I would PLEAD with parents all over this land to wake up! We have a LOST generation of adults and it is a CRIME to waste lives like this. And it is partially the fault of the system and the parents for not taking a stand when they should have. Let's NOT let it happen again!

Funny, they thought this was a "conspiracy theory" when I mentioned it some 20 years ago.
Now who has the last tear?

Oh, and did I mention that from cradle to grave these asshat progressives who infiltrate public schools go on the schedule to teach a future generation that " you're important" and loving yourself is the greatest love of all. Nice.
And don't forget those who make you feel bad, ahhhhhhh (little violins) are vultures to be dispelled out of your little heads.
You don't need to do anything right, only try.
Hey public system, YOU ARE TO BLAME FOR THAT SHEIT!!!!

You know what the latest little bumper sticker they have is don't you?
(the damned little money pits)
You must of course support any rise in taxes and special funds for these institutions, or.... YOU HATE KIDS. Talk about underhanded tactics.
