I'm sure that boy deserves a good ass whoopin'
It's sad when teachers can't teach without being disrespected and having to deal with problem kids, whose parents have basically "made".

More than likely this 12 year old probably provoked her. We wonder what is happening in the world when we see the horrific crimes being committed by our children. I think you will find the acceleration of these terrible incidents began when we took God out of the schools and then took the authority away from the teachers and even worse, the parents! It's a shame that kids cannot even be disciplined in a way necessary without someone being accused of abuse! No wonder we have a generation coming up of rebellious and disrespecting people.
Amen!!!

12 years old in elementary school? If the school only goes up to 5th grade, that could be the problem.

By the way folks they must have gotten her picture out of a year book. Who is going smile like that while taking a mug shot. It is a shame there was a rush to judgement on this and her picture has been posted for all to see even though she is innocent until proven guilty. Wrong. wrong, wrong!!!

I agree with you, but do you have to ask why they posted her picture... I mearn really... just think about it.

Why would the media post the Teacher's picture before any type of truth comes to light. Sort of scary to think you can be arrested for a disgruntled student and wind up on the net without your side being told. Good job NBC 4!

DMA wonders what I look like. I am as black as the ace of spades and my heart is just as black. I enjoy being ugly and I like battleaxe women. Besides the battleaxe teachers I had in school had the backing of the authorities and the parents. The old story was if a kid came home and said the teacher whipped him, allowed in some schools or hit his hand with a ruler, then the kid got another whipping from his parents. Respect you know. Sometimes the heathens have to be civilized.

I am a teacher in PG County. I am sitting in class right now waiting for my students to finish a test. I can't tell you how many times in the last 40 minutes I have asked someone to close their mouths, sit in their seats, stop touching, stop hitting, stop playing, or whatever else have you. Some times the kids try to give you a hug or play with you and when you say stop, they don't. The kids treat it as a game. It's sad to know that she was presumed guilty before she was found in a court of law guilty. I teach in a middle school, students threaten us all the time and hit us as well but our administrators do nothing about it. Hopefully, the parents will see that if the tables were turned, they would have thought twice about their actions.
You're good. I'd probably pay some other kid to beat up the ones that threatened me.

Yeah in DC they protect the teachers, my daughter with Down Syndrome told me her teache assaulted her and had bruises. The DC police, CHild protective services and the school staff said that how was I sure they did because of my daughter's handicap, she has Down's Syndrome she's not stupid and usually when someone does something to her she always is telling the truth, but they swept it under the rug covered it up and told me to transfer my daughter, NOTHING happened to Ms. SIms who still works for Cleveland Elemenatry school in NW DC. I wish they go lock her up. The police and DCPS Security told me they were still investigating it! That's okay now what goes around come BACK around!

It is a shame that teachers have to put up with undisciplined children, when they are trying to educate students. We probably have lost a good, qualified teacher. The students, who want to learn, and future students will lose out now. It's unfortunate that some students are willing to disrupt the learning of their fellow students. The disruptive student is not interested in getting his education. As for that child's parent or parents, discipline begins at home, not the classroom. The school never called me about my children when they were in school. My children, now grown, knew better and what would happen if I ever did get a call about their school behavior.

In this case, that teacher should not be teaching special education students.

Talking during test-taking was never tolerated when I was in school. My teachers didn't keep telling you to be quiet. They warned you the first time. If you continued to talk and they were grading your paper, you lost points or received an F. Surprisingly how soon talking during test-taking stopped.

Parents, teacher, and school boards didn't put up with disruptive students either. Those, who wanted to learn, did; those that didn't, were kicked out.

This is most unfortunate but I side with the teacher. Todays youth have no respect for their parents, thus they have no respect for other authority figures. Its a sound of the times

It's sad... teachers can not even protect themselves anymore. Society really needs to wake up and make parents and students much more accountable for their actions. Leave the teachers alone!

Trust me, I have thought about it. But what can a teacher do when they don't get any support from the people at the top? At the school where I teach, our administrators (especially the principal) don't do too much to support the teachers or staff. Kids can hit us and when we retaliate, we are the ones in the wrong. Students have all the rights. Teachers have none. There should be a law and book called, NO TEACHER LEFT BEHIND. All of the responsibility falls on the teacher but none on the students who mind you are old enough to know right and wrong or their parents who should be teaching their children at home about respect and having values and manners. When is the blame game going to stop? When are the children and their parents going to start accepting responsibility for THEIR ACTIONS AND MINDSET?

But these kids nowadays don't care. To them school is a social environment not a place for learning. When you tell a child you earned an E, they say so. When you call the parents, they say, don't call me anymore or I can't do anything with him or her either or even call their mother/father.
