It may not replace other less environmentally friendly methods, but it's a step in the right direction. As far as an eyesore- alot of people find them attractive to watch- and, I would ask, how long did it take people to get used to seeing power and telephone poles? Today most people don't even notice. As for bird kills, how many animals die every year from other forms of electricity generation, especially through habitat loss?

The Hammond town board will have the final say on the issue of allowing Wind Turbines to be placed in our town, not the taxpayers or residents. Where do you think these proposed towers will most likely be placed? Near the St Lawrence River of course! Who pays the highest taxes in the Town of Hammond? You got it...the River front owners, most of us are not permenant residents of Hammond, & therefore can't even vote for the members on the Town board! And just for kicks, take a look at the members on that Town board who either own or have a family member who owns property large enough to profit quite well from these Wind Farms! See any conflict of interest here?
