Review: Leon's Automotive

I took my car to Leon a little over a year ago. I thought he was a nice guy ( at first). I had an alternator repaired.($) Car broke down again. Replaced intake gasket.($$) Car broke down again. He said it was the motor. I wasn't going to replace the motor, I specified I just get it running to trade. He then looked at after dropping the pan and said I should get alot more life out of the motor it wasn't as bad as he thought. He said he just needed to replace the oil pump. He replaced that and the car wouldn't even start! I highly advise anyone not to use his services. Especially if your a woman! I spent over $700 in repairs in less than 6 months. Don't be a victim!

same thing happened to me. took my car in he worked on it $400. it never drove right. ended up having to take it to another shop to have it fixed right. have heard from lots of people that he does this kind of thing to lots of people. i will never take anything back to him.

seemed like a nice guy, but after paying to get the same job done 3 times & still doesn't run right.another mechanic fixed for $200 after throwing away $1000. how does he keep any customers?

money is hard to come by as you-all know... he asks a premium price but gives you a half a__ed job..

I used to belong to a Fiat, followed by a Miata, and took them both to Leon's whenever there was a problem. His shop (whether he actually did the work himself or not) always got me in on short notice and returned Baby or Eda to me quickly. Never had a problem with price or breaking down on the way out. No one there ever treated me like a brainless body for being female. On the other hand, I do know a lot about diagnosis and repair, just not strong enough or have all the right tools/lift.

leons is great they have made mistakes but always fixes them!

family? or just a local that has that has had a favor done for them...salem ar is in need of honest people to take care of their everyday needs by their local businesses-this is not the joint by far.

Well I've known Leon my entire life and he ripped me off. If he will do that to a friend he will do it to anyone. Said my car needed head gaskets, after having my car for two months I finally got it back. It wouldn't even make it home. I called him and no answer, after tracking him down he looked at it again said he fixed it.Same thing happened again! Had another mechanic look at it he said the gaskets were never changed ( I could have told that anyway, there was still old oil all over the motor.) Well you get the picture. He's a CROOK and I just hope he sleeps good at night!

Exactly, if you dont like it take it somewhere else and quit bitching about it. More than likeley it is a piece of crap to begin with so his work may not be the whole problem. It is not just leon it is everywhere else,mechanics are just that way. So start fixing your own shit and you wont have to deal with it!!!

That is not true there are some good reputable mechanics out there its just hard to find them. And your statement about being crap to start with is ignorant. I have taken several different vehicles there some near new and know many other people who have taken vehicles there with the same poor results. And if you didn't understand that this is a public forum and people come here to state opinions and exchange info so if you dont like it type an intelligent response or just leave. Also there are other mechanics here in town and you don't see several negative comments about them here. I am glad to see that the public has a place like this to discuss things and maybe keep eachother from getting ripped off.
