There is, she works at the beverage shoppe in thayer on the state line. He came in there one day on his day off and bought some booze and the b%^$@ that sold it to him called the police and turned him in. Her co-worker was complaining about it to anyone that would listen. ever since then things have been a little Amber colored instead of rose colored, if you get my drift.
Wow. I would think that the Beverage Shoppe's customers deserve more confidentiality than this! They used to do this back in the good ole days when Luke Haney was sheriff and it led to lots of dangerous car chases back toward Salem and Hardy. This was just an ignorant thing for this employee of this liquor store to do and she should have been fired.

I will put my name to this post.
I have know Dr. Kauffman since he came to this area. He is not only my doctor but my friend.
Three years ago, while my wife was dying of cancer, I was around Dr. Kauffman daily, at all hours, over a 6 week span. I never once saw him when he was impaired in any way, and I challenge anyone who has been seen by Dr. Kauffman to say they have seen him impaired. Just be brave enough to put your name on the post.
Over the six weeks my wife was in FCH, many times I saw Dr. Kauffman spend 72 hours away from home. Sleeping at the hospital at night on call, working at his clinic all day, and coming back to the hospital to be on call again.
Dr. Kauffmans patients always come first. Any one who has ever had Dr. Kauffman deliver bad news to them has seen the pain in his eyes, and heard the pain in his voice. He truly cares about his patients.
Fulton County is blessed to have so many dedicated and highly qualified healthcare professionals. I know many of them personally.
And while medical service will not shut down without David Kauffman, a very integral cog in the wheel will be lost. I'm being selfish, I don't want another community to benefit from Dr. Kauffman's skill and compassion.
Honestly, I wouldn't blame him if he moved to Missouri and set up practice. The Arkansas Medical Board has deprived the community of a brilliant physican, and deprived a brilliant physician of doing what is his life. If the Medical Board has not reinstate his license, I challenge all of his patients and friends to send their support to jbroyles.ar@gmail.com. I will forward them to the Medical Board. And I challenge the medical board to justify their actions.
"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

EXCELLENT POST, JIM BROYLES!!

I have written the Arkansas Medical Board 3 times over the past months begging them to return Dr. Kauffman to our community, not after 8 months, but NOW. I have received no response from either them or from my letter to the Governor. However, if a lot of people write, they will surely take notice. PLEASE, EVERYONE, SEND YOUR LETTER OF SUPPORT TO JIM!

I have been waiting patiently and with high hopes for Dr. Kauffman's return to work. He supposedly met with the Board at his request October 2. So, today I see that his status with the medical board has been changed from Suspended to Revoked...what happened, when, AND why???

Duh....how do you pay your rent when your job is taken away in a day? He might have accumulated a little extra money had it not been for a thieving employee who wiped him out.

Why is it that no one puts their name on a post, especially the few negative ones? I'm not bashful about being David's friend and patient. I ask Dr. Kauffman's friends to put their names on this forum, and challenge the few negative bashers to do the same thing.
Cast the first stone, but be brave enough to put your name on it.

I have never used him. I don't know the whole story. I just know they have boards for a reason. I sure hope they didn't give the man a raw deal. I'd hate to think that could happen.

While we're on the subject, there are several doctors in Mountain Home that need to be evaluated because they are far worse than any doctor I've used, ever. I use a doctor in Salem that happens to be one of the better ones I've ever used. If he ever leaves I'll be driving out of state or something.

Dr. Kauffman has been my doctor for several years. He is a very skilled physician, and if you have ever been one of his patients, you know you are in excellent hands. He diagnosed me years ago with Sjogren's disease. I was almost blind and couldn't see. Sjogren's is an autoimmune disease where you have extremely dry mucous membranes and a disease that many who have lupus also have. It had affected my eyesight to the degree that I was wearing 3 pair of sunglasses and still holding onto someone's arm to walk out in the sun. I am a medical transcriptionist, and had to take a 6-month medical leave of absence from my job. I couldn't even read a can label and had to have all my drapes pulled. I was having to put drops in my eyes every 10 minutes. It was a very rough time. I still have to have certain type of drops in my eyes really often as I wound up having to have my tear ducts plugged then the bottom ones lasered shut just to try and get some moisture to my eyes. My retinas were scarring even. I feel should I again need to be in the hospital or ER there at Salem, I'd want him attending me as I have the utmost confidence in his skills and caring for his patients. If your life or a member of your family is ever on the line, you should just hope and pray he is there for you also.

Jim, I totally agree with you about putting our names on here for even Dr. Kauffman to see how much we care and miss him and need him back working again. It is such a rotten deal he is getting. Every day in the news some politician is pratically given a hand swat for cheating and misusing funds or having to fess up what they have done. Look at the 2 pilots this week who were finally evoked their pilots' licenses because they had over 140 lives in their hands and were too busy being on their laptops to care that they went over 100 miles past where they were to land. They even thought the plane could have been hijacked and were fixing to send up fighter pilots to shoot it down. Now, look in comparison at Dr. Kauffman who took Claritin and how extreme he is being treated. Is there any comparison?!! I can understand why he took the Claritin as he was just totally miserable and ill. Yes, doctors actually do get sick. How many of us when we are miserable don't we all go searching through our medicine cabinets for something to relieve a sinus headache or upset stomach or something. Such a small infraction, and they have once again thrown the book at him.

The community badly needs Dr. Kauffman and our support. Dr. K, you are greatly missed, and I hope and pray that Little Rock sees reason and that others will also take the initiative and show their support and not just verbally but in writing.

Liz,
Being on a board doesn't always being right.
One of the board members also treated my late wife.
While Dr. Kauffman was at our side the entire time, the board member that she trusted her life with told her that her condition was her own fault.
The morning after he released her from his hospital, she was back in Dr. Kauffmans. And while she walked into the board members hospital on her own, I had to carry her out. Although her condition was terminal, the board member only made her feel like she had done this to herself. And had let her fall to a level that no one could bring her back from. Dr. Kauffman never gave up. A week before she passed, he was showing her documentation that it wasn't hopeless. Her and David shared something that few of us know. They are both genius level IQ. I just wish I brought her back to him before the brain tumor made it impossibe for her to comprehend.
I use the name David and Dr. Kauffman simultaniously. I call my friend David, and I call my physician Dr. Kauffman. They are one and the same. I spent 20 years as a firefighter, first responer, and EMT. I know what I'm talking about.

If the people that hate Dr. Kauffman doesn't want to use him as a Dr. they don't have to. But shut up and leave him along. So that the ones of us that believe in him and do use him can have him back as our Dr. If you have never used him, you don't know what kinda Dr. he is. You can't go by what someone else tells you. LEAVE DR. KAUFFMAN ALONE. Dr. Kauffman if you read this post remember that you have alot of supporters out there.

Dr. Kauffman may be the greatest Dr. ever. However I have concerns. As long as it is on his own time in his own home I don't care if he is hammered. When he is on the streets or acting in a medical capacity he has no business being under the influence, after all it is against the law.

As for anyone being out to get him I can assure that when it comes to law enforcement that simply is not true. Trust me i used to work with the DTF in this area and we where not targeting Mr. Kauffman

It was not anyone in Salem. It was the Arkansas State Medical Board down in L.Rock. I witnessed their shocking abuse of him. They treated him like a misbehaving 4 yr old. I could not imagine a talented doctor being treated like that.

So, what's he going to do about it,.... anything?
What can he do? When they did this to him before, it took him something like 2 years to get his license back. Hope he will suffer through it again.
