Kristin is beautiful - what a smile! Aledo kids should be crowned as royalty, also. Clearly, parents in Aledo have raised a great group of kiddos - those who see true beauty is within! Wow - makes me think there is hope for this country, after all.

I was beginning to wonder with all the horrible things said about Sarah Palin.

God Bless Kristin and Aledo!

I have twin boys and 1 has downs'. I have always told my other son to treat him just like any other kid..just don't let any1 pick on him. He is the funniest kid around and yes he has a temper, but also loving. Loved the story about Kristin Pass, hopefully todays kids are learning that who we are and not what we are makes the difference..

I'll bet the King is just as pleased with the selection as the rest of the children in the school are. Just because you have no compasion for a young lady with down syndrome, thank god these young people do.
This young lady showed a lost of intestinal fortitude in going to school everyday, a normal school and going to classes will all of these other students.
Once again God Bless these young people nice job kids, we are proud of you.
He didn't say it wasn't a good thing. It was a nice gesture. Thats all, and your god had nothing more to do with it than he does all the starving people in this world.

Benice & Rita X - SHUT UP! Stop hating because you didnt get crowned homecoming queen back in the day. You have to PASS classes BEFORE you can be nominated/crowned queen and judging by your spelling....well it speaks for itself.
Kristin Pass; beautiful child, congratulations! Aldeo High School - hats off to you and to your parents for raising some fine young children!
I second that. Just because she has downs does not mean she is not qualified she is so much more quilified then the people that think she is not. way to go Kristin The mayor of Aldeo know how to run a town way to go Aldeo and the people of Aldeo

Rita X - quit looking for handouts. I am so tired of hearing how everyone is against the black community.Have some self respect and get over it. The black community brings it on themselves. Maybe if you would treat people respectfully then you would get respect in return. Try that for a change.
BENICE - whatever. those kids in Aledo show that no one is different no matter how they look or what the disability might be. good for those kids. we should have more communities like that.
Way to go nicely said

great acievement for the school not to be discrimitive of disability.
a long way from instituitionalised and hidden away.
why do people have to be so critical and argue over some good news? and turn it around to their own sadness and things they feel bitter about?
society is changing (in parts) and we must all learn to socially accept others choose who they are and what their ability.
I know loads of downs syndrome kids of many different ethnic orgin - downs syndrome doesnt just affect 'white' people , so why the battle over race?
and spelling - gosh so petty.
maybe bringing up a disabled baby and watching him nearly die twice means i have change my attitude cos i just dont get all this hostility on these comments.

Thank you for your story of the newly crowned home coming queen. Down syndrome children are such dedicated, and loving people. It pleases me so much that Kristin's friends would give her a life-long honor such as this! The acceptance of down syndrome is growing in our country, and that makes me proud!

Just because Palin has a down syndrome child doesn't make her very big in my mind. She cut special olympics in Alaska by half. Not very american in my mind.

Gov. Palinís budget as passed slightly increased Special Olympics funding in Alaska but only by half of what the organization requested. She did not cut special olympics by half!

There is a man with down syndrome that works part time at the Kroger I shop at. He can bag groceries much better than any 16 or 17 year old highschool student. He stays focused on his job, and don't put canned goods on top of your eggs and bread. Like one moron did, at this particular store did, at one time.
He lives in a group home and works for spending money. If I see him working, I request he sack my groceries (and give him a good tip) or I will sack them myself.
This guy is always cheerful and has the manners to say 'Thank You'. Something the majority of teenagers today neglect to say.

Rita - We don't have much diversity in Aledo - it's a wonderful place to live.

It auh conpiracy to keep the black womens from being homecoming queens. They just put a white women with down sydromes, blind, deaf, breast cancers or one leg shorter than the other and stuff like that as long as they white.
