All residents, business owners, city officials and the Aledo school district need to ban together and get this thrown out. It is far too close to the elementary and high school, residential and local businesses. Can you imagine going to the new football stadium that has cost many millions of dollars and smell rotten garbage during the entire game. This affects every one that has a child in these schools, East Bankhead will be much more dangerous for all with garbage trucks, 18 wheelers and personal vehicles pulling trailer loaded with rotten garbage. Not to mention rats. Everyone needs to ban together and let the TCEQ know that we will not stand by while they trash our schools, reputation, residents and city.
DON"T LET THE Duncan Disposal and the TCEQ TRASH ALEDO!!!
Here is a link that will let you state you comments and concerns online to the TCEQ: The permit number for the Waste Transfer Station is 2356.
http://www5.tceq.state.tx.us/ecmnts/index.cfm
Please enter the permit number 2356 then click next. It is a simple process and you could submit comments as many times as you would like. The more the better! From what the TCEQ said at the meeting is they are focusing on health and safety, but I have commented on property values as well. You can also mail in or fax comments as well. RE: Permit # 2356

The Aledo school district has spent too much money to provide quality schools for our children for us to allow it to be done in vain because Duncan Disposal wants to make a quick buck. This project needs to be moved out away from residences and schools. It needs to be put in a place where the state can keep a good eye on the run off, pollutants, and air emmissions (i.e. smell)produced by this type of industry.

We are writing to express our opposition to the projected Transfer Station in Aledo. The amount of traffic this facility would generate on Bankhead Road would endanger our school buses and children.
Many buses use the surrounding roads to reach the adjacent schools and bus barn. The number of big trash trucks and huge haulers will not only put lives in danger, they will destroy the county roads. This does not even take into consideration trash, smell, contaminated water runoff and possible health hazards. Come see for yourself.

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Leo

Today's Full Moon will affect your love life significantly during the next few months. You might have to say goodbye to someone you care about, or you may realize some difficult truths about your relationship. You may also have to make a tricky decision about a child or a creative project. Although this won't be a very easy time, don't make it worse by over-reacting and turning every hitch into a major drama.
