3/4 of Oquawka should be in jail. These guys and girls doing the meth, selling the meth, need to be behind bars. Maybe if they got locked up it wouldn't keep going on. Do you know if someone is caught selling meth, the feds can make him a nark but he can still make the shit and sell it...in hopes they get more people. please...put their butts in jail soon as they get caught with the stuff. Meth users are a waste of space and man are they ugly.

I grew up in Oquawka and 3/4 of the population is over the age of 50...I agree that Meth is a terrible drug and dealers should be prosecuted...but the addicts arent "a waste of space" they are sick people in need of help...I know a reformed meth addict that is now a counselor...

Some of you people have no idea about the power of addiction. Do you really think that the people addicted to meth want to be? Addiction is a disease that destroys peoples lives. If it were cancer victims we were talking about would you still say they are a waste of space? Because they are skinny, pale, and without their hair would you call them ugly? Maybe you should think about your own family. If your brother or sister or maybe even your child was addicted to drugs would you still condemn them? You should think about that, because it can just as easily be one of them. I am a recovering meth addict, I've been busted for manufacturing, I went to jail. Then I went to treatment, got clean, stayed clean, now I work with addicted people trying to help them. When your family member comes to my office for help I think you will want me to help them not call them an ugly waste of space that should rot in jail.

Let's face it... our town is NOT the arm pit of West Central Illinois.. but if we do not get some assistance in the community then we may head in that direction. I stand and applaud the officers of the Henderson County Police Department for their work on this and other cases! They do a fine job. So we have the guys in custody.. ok now what? These men have used for a number of years. Yes, serve your time in jail or prison whatever they may have ahead of them but now lets get some community action in cleaning up the aftermath. How about some seminars? How about some neighborhood watches or other community activities that can help shed a positive light or inspire others to come make a difference in their own life and their community. I work in the counseling field with recovering addicts and I do not see many resources here besides myself at times lending a kind ear to those who take a minuite out of their day to talk to me about something bothering them... lets see more programs in Henderson County to help at risk youth and adults to beat this ugly addiction!

I just want to say i grew up in Oquawka and i dont agree with you fedupalready in Cameron.I dont think that 3/4 of Oquawka should be in jail. And how dare you judge those people unless you have been in their shoes. Those with out sin cast the first stone and i dont think that is you.So where is the help they need for all those drug adicted people you think need to be in jail?I dont see you running to help. And YES they should go to jail but there should be somekinda intervention.I belive there should be a drug rehab facility in this area and as far as i know there isnt on.So unless your willing to step in and help those people why dont you shut up and stay in that sin free town you live in.

3/4 of Oquawka should be in jail, Huh? I only know a few people that are doing drugs. Most of the trouble I hear of comes from people from out of town or that move here.
