but there is more to this whole story and someone is not telling the truth!!! I know that the “mother” was asked by family if anything was wrong and said nothing. She also had no problem calling Cardo’s family members collect to ask for money when needed. So if she was so abused why didn’t she phone her parents collect and ask them to get her out of the situation??? While Cardo was working in Florida she was alone for hours while he was at work, why not call family then??? The day of this accident, neighbors said they seen she was on a 4 wheeler with Cardo. How can she have a good time with someone she was so afraid of?? She had no problem traveling back and forth with Cardo, living off of Cardo’s family generosity, giving them a place to live for free and a car to drive while in Missouri. Sounds like someone is hiding behind the defense of abuse to keep themselves out of trouble. I would die first before I would let anyone touch my child. If my child died I don’t think I would be on myspace 2 days after she died to post a comment, now that is a grieving parent!! And then ask people for money for her defense through facebook! I know this hard for a lot of people but I cannot stand by and say nothing. I beg people to please think about some of the stuff above, I’m sure some women and men will find some of her story untrue!Oh and another thing, If a man done such a horrible thing to me, i think the last thing i would do is have family go into his family's home with receipts to get back things i bought him for christmas.I wouldn't want anything in my sight that reminded me of him. But her family came into my families home to obtain stuff she bought for Cardo, Why would she even want them??? She can throw him under the bus all she wants but in the end people will see through it all.

Domestic Violence is not something you can "hide behind" There is evidence, and the truth is out. You, young lady, need to mind your own buisness, your own life, and stop judging others!

Sorry to say but i have to agree with mad in Missouri. This does bring up alot of questions about the girl in this story. Why did she not get out of the situation? Why has this story not ran in the local papers?? I know her father is on the Bothel Police Dept.

First and foremost, I would like to say that I don't think, that people get a fair trial anymore, when the world gets to judge them, before they even get their day in court.. These two young parents, have lost their child, and the only ones who really know what happened in that room, are in shock, and mourning, and have yet to really tell their side. As for the mother, she is out on bail and should be telling the truth about what happened, and the father should be given a chance to relay his side before we call him a murderer.. I don't think the newspapers/news, should have posted this story in such a fashion that the father is guilty when there were never any prior complaints in the system.

I was so sad to learn of little Madeline's death. She was such a happy little smiley girl whenever we would visit the little store her mom worked at here in Washington. It's such a senseless tragedy that Madeline was the innocent victim of her parent's problems. God Bless Madeline, her family and friends.

I knew Jaimee and I remember she was always going back and forth saying she hated Ricardo and then she liked him. He never wanted to be with her, he denied it was his baby for a long time, and then finally when he decided he wanted to be with her, she moved out there to be with him. She VOLUNTARILY went to be with him and chose not to report anything to the police. She is JUST as guilty as he is.

The reason Ricardo denied it was his baby is because he didn't know, two men was involved in that night, she didn't even know who the father was until the DNA test was done!!!!

yeah she was pretty sure it was someone elses baby for quite awhile during the pregnancy.

victims of domestic violence are beaten down emotionally and are usually unable to make rational decisions about "leaving" the abuser. in this case, the abuser isolated her, took her phone away, took her car away and the only way anyone could contact her was through the abuser himself! she was unable to get help until she got to the hospital with their child and was able to get away from "him" for a moment to tell her story of abuse. take the time to educate yourself about domestic violence to learn "why" it's so hard for "victims to leave their abusers" before you judge jaimee.

Thank you educated. This is so true. Even women who are verbally abused become trapped & controlled in ways that people who look in from the outside can't even imagine or understand. It's easy to judge from the outside and expect that Jaimee should have asked for help, but being dependent upon someone who "promises" to stop, and wanting so very much to be a family was ultimately too high of a price to pay. How any man could have done something so horrific to his daughter is incomprehensible. There is no justification for this. No one caused it, it wasn't Jaimee's fault, it wasn't anyone's fault, but his own. He made a bad decision, and in that moment, following through on that cost a precious little girl her life. She was truly a little joy! I miss her, I can't even begin to imagine how her Mommy feels.

End of story!(He also made the choice to take drugs which I hope he doesn’t use as a cope out for his actions.) I also want to say to those who knew what was going on, and did nothing...shame on you! it is easy to blame because someone has to pay for this awful and senseless crime, but I know Ricardo loved that little girl with all his heart and was trying to do the right thing, I spoke to him just 4 hours before this all happened and he was just giving Madeline a bath, he would call me often and tell me how happy he was to be with his daughter, his mother raised him well and he is not a monster, something else happened that night and the truth always comes out no matter who tries to hide it!

If Ricardo loved his daughter so much why did he kill her? Why did he slap her and swing her up-side down and smak her face into a play pin? Riddle me that heartbroken in New York. If he loved her so much why did he take drugs, drink and get out of control? Why didn't he send support to Jaimee? As far as his mother....didn't she live with men who beat him as a kid? It was a senseless crime and he needs to answer for his actions as does Jaimee.

None of you even know her. And if you did, you would know what a wonderful mother she is, and how much her daughter loved her.
The reason all this happened, is ALL because of Ricardo. He is the one who hurt both Jaimee, and her daughter.
He controlled them both completly. And if you can't understand why she didnt leave, talk to your local domestic violence agency, they will educate you.
Ask yourself this question, if your own daughter was in Jaimee's shoes, would you blame her as well?
Leave Jaimee alone, you have no place to blame her, and judge her.
