To all the people of Alden! I am asking that you help me to help the family of another one of our young ones that have been injured in a serious car accident.I want to find out how to set something up so that we can help the Hawkes family. They REALLY need to know that we support them. Michele owns the "Curves" business here right in town, although that is not doing well at all with our recession. That business will close later this month. I can't even begin to imagine how they are going to pay the bills! Perhaps we can each reach into our hearts and pockets and offer them what we can. They live at 12865 West Main street. If that isn't possible, how about cards sent to Annie. Maybe even signs on our local businesses. I love living in this town and hope that we'll all be able to step forward and help them! Please help me get the word out and help them on their long, hard road ahead of them. Very sincerely, Kathy

Kathy, how is Annie doing? I feel so bad. I don't know her, but while traveling Thursday morning, I came across the accident. I was one of the first to stop. I did what I could, which wasn’t much. I know she is going to need a lot of help. Please let me know how she is.

I hope that Annie recovers from this tragic accident. I am sure that she is in good hands at the medical center. They handle traumas like this every day and each day she does a little better is that much closer to a slow but positive outcome. If anyone wants to hold a benefit down the road for Annie and her family, count me in. Talk to the fire department and see if you can use their facility or the school hall. See if you can get donations for a basket auction and maybe a local band for some intertainment. Local pizza places for food donations and stores for supplies. Try to hold it in good weather and maybe when Annie is doing a little better so she may attend. Auto insurance will cover most medical expenses, but not all once they reach a limit. Don't hesitate to contact me for help.

I'm so sorry to tell you, but Annie passed away Saturday night. The arrangements are:
Calling hours on Thursday, February 26 from 2 to 5 at the Amigone Funeral Home, 6050 Transit Rd. in Depew. Please continue to keep Steve and Michele in your prayers. Kathy is on vacation, so I don't know if she has received word yet. Take care all. |

I think it should be mentioned that my beautiful niece was an organ donor. Thanks to her ever given, generous nature, other people who may have not made it through, now have a whole new life's beginning. Thank you Annie for being the bright light that you are. I love you.

Fred, I thank you for what ever you did that morning to help my daughter. I know this could not have been easy for you. I wonder everyday what happened. I know the trucks were rerouted because of bad weather, and had they been made to stand, Annie would be here today. How awful that the price of delivery (trash in this case)is worth more than a twenty year old life. Thank you gain. Annie's Mom |
